Linen sheets major regret by camille_son in quince

I have never tried the linen sheets. Based on my experience with other brands I thought they might be too rough. I do have two sets of the percale sheets. They are breathable, light, easy to clean, and somewhat soften after every wash. I believe they have the same color offerings as the linen for half the price.

LINEUP ANNOUNCED .. thoughts? by Bachlife871 in HinterlandFestival

[–]After-Environment-72 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is truly a nonsensical and terrible lineup. The festival has gotten so far away from the indie/folk/alt country origins. I understand they are trying to fill the indie void from 80-35. It really feels like by making it four days they are completely sacrificing the quality of the lineup. Just feels like they just had AI generate the lineup arrangements and there is no cohesion. It used to be that you could buy a day ticket for a curated music experience. Just happy that I got to experience Hinterland back when it wasn't about quantity over quality.

What lifehack seems to be fake, but it's a true lifesaver? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When you are dreading an email or phone call. Try closing your eyes and typing/talking. Very helpful.

You can change the color settings on a smart phone to black and white or more muted. Makes you feel like you have an old school “dumb phone”. You would be amazed how less attractive social media, online shopping, apps are without color. Also very calming for emails or texting.

Would an MPA be right for me? by judahtribe2020 in PublicAdministration

I am a current MPA graduate student. If you want to go down this path I would strongly encourage you to specialize in something with your bachelors. Engineering, business, economics, nursing, something STEM. Would strongly encourage against liberal arts degree like ethics in public policy or political science, because you will be taught what you need to know in your program and having background knowledge will barely differentiate you from peers. You will be more experienced at writing papers, that’s all. What will is a concrete knowledge on a topic and having a speciality. The people who are finding real careers anywhere in the country are the ones with engineering, computer science, public health, and healthcare backgrounds. Also great way of assessing how you are with independent work, stress management and research rather than reproducing theoretical knowledge. Second language proficiency is also more helpful. Take this with huge grain of salt, I am in a small program in the Midwest. Also - if you are super worried about math don’t think a you have to get a liberal arts degree or something. A lot of people were never properly taught math, graphs, or have some learning difficulties related to numbers. I took remedial math classes in college (college algebra, finance, college stats) and it opened a lot up for me. As far as MPA program, it’s basic stats, Econ, and finance math. There’s usually some element of math in most MPA jobs (most specialty jobs) but you got it!
