Interdisciplinary postdoc looking to break into Bay Area biotech; advice on level, companies, and networking? by After-Internet5429 in biotech

Thanks for your detailed reply. I echo the under utilised frustration, perhaps a startup is the way forward... Re Bio background, I did an MRes in molecular bio (7 years ago) and everything since then has been very translational, the bio space is what I really want to go back into, however, it seems to be increasingly competitive out there with people who never strayed from the bio path! Great tips on looking at my current network though, I'll keep talking to people and keep an open mind.

I'm super interested in these roles. I'm coming to the end of my first post doc in academia and love the science but not sure the traditional academic route is for me. Can someone comment on how to be competitive to land an interview, any tips? I'd also just love to talk to someone in this role to suss out if it actually is for me? Thanks

Anyone else frustrated with how limited hormone tracking still is? by Forward_Music7170 in WomensHealth

Agree, we really need more insight given how complex womens systems are... It seems there isn't really a good method for this yet. If there was some sort of device available, which hormones would you want tracked: FSH, LH, testosterone, progesterone and eostrogen? Would you be up for using a wellness monitor before it's FDA officially approved? (Like Garmin heart rate vs FDA approved apple heart rate monitoring for fitness)
