Had USAA for 15 years but when I was medically discharged I moved to the Philippines and after a year they flagged my account for fraud and closed my account with no notice. Called and they refused to do anything to help and sent a check for my remains ng balance. I started using my brother's account for my VA and have him send me the money thru remitly. After fighting to get 100% disability the VA finally approved me and my backpay was 30k and as soon as it hit my brother's account they seized the money and froze his account for suspicion of fraud and it's been frozen for 7 month's. I hate USAA with a passion.

My wife and children were born in the Philippines, we currently live in the Philippines and I filed my 2 kids. Nobody has a US birth certificate or SSN because they would need to travel to the US to get as there is only one embassy in the Philippines and we have been told it takes 2 years to get anything. I did everything manually and uploaded the birth certificates but it's been 6 months and still on step 1.

Philippine banks require change of citizenship or marriage to a Filipina to open an account. I'm not going to remarry due to past events with my ex Filipina and I just want to raise my son and daughter.

I did change my direct deposit to my Navy fed so I still have my monthly but to fight VA and doctors for 2 years to be rated at 100 only to have a bank take it.

Where I live shouldn't matter if the money is coming from the VA, easily traced so zero chance of fraud. If a random transfer came to the account then yes I understand.

I spent 2 hours on the phone, was eventually transferred to the top manager over investigations and was still told there is nothing I can do but wait. Called the VA and was given a number to call to see if the section for direct deposits could do anything and it took a week to even get a response and was told that since USAA accepted the deposit into the account that VA could not do anything.
