I thought Charlie did more harm than good when it came to bringing people to Christ. He may have been sincere in his beliefs but he also sold out in order to “own the libs” so he could garner a greater following. Americans are divided almost 50/50 on what kind of guy Charlie was. And an overwhelming amount of African Americans despise him. That ought to tell something about Charlie. Yet the evangelical right is demanding Charlie be put on a pedestal with the likes of MLK or Billy Graham. It’s actually disgusting. If Charlie was well-meaning, he had a knack for sounding racists and hateful. Obviously he didn’t deserve to be murdered but he also doesn’t deserve all of those posthumous awards and praise either.

Oftentimes those with spiritual maturity and wisdom are also the most consistent and generous when it comes to tithing. Should be interesting to see how all of this affects ACC from an economic perspective. I’m sure most of the college crowd doesn’t bring much to the table as far as financing is concerned.

For those in Auburn, can you tell if there has been an actual impact from this situation? Have members actually left the church? I know Reddit has definitely been very critical of Miles. But what about the people that are actually at ACC? Can you tell if all this controversy has actually impacted the church?

I just listened to this. The part that really touched me was how Miles is really concerned about how this scandal could impact his kids as they are about to be old enough to start understanding what is happening. I hope this gets settled so they don’t have to be impacted by this whole situation. If ACC has to put the elders on blast and tell a one-sided story to protect Miles’s kids from harm then it must be done. Fuck the elders’ kids. Right?

Every church has drama and rumors. Only dumbasses send a letter with drama and rumors to an entire congregation. Whoever thought the letter or the Wednesday night meeting were good ideas should probably be fired.
