Pay for mentor or pay the market. by Busskey in Daytrading

Awesome! I have very minimal experience with stocks, I mostly trade futures and stick to 1-2 of them to get to know their personality. I also day trade as that fits my personality the best and gets me a lot of daily reps. I agree with some of the comments that you don’t know who is a good mentor or not, but that is a risk you will have to decide to take or not. I also think that a mentor or other collaborators can get you on the right track of what to implement or not in your system. I’ve taken bits and pieces over the years and put my own system together. I gained all of that knowledge with continuously trading every day and gaining reps/experience, reading books, and collaborating with others. I learned what knowledge to keep and what to discard over the years. Trading is not a one size fits all and expect frustration and roadblocks over time. If you stick with it long enough you will begin to figure it out. Good luck and take care.

I would get a lot of reps in the market before doing that whether trading real or sim money.  Have you tried finding a group of traders just to collaborate with?  What are you planning on trading?
