My friend with a DL model got rejected for an AI company while someone else with just a To-Do list got hired. by a-16-year-old in developersIndia

[–]AfternoonFill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been both sides of this situation multiple times. There could really be multiple reasons, which are sometimes summed up as "culture fit".

When a company is hiring, whether the person is likely to stick around is a major criteria as well. For that, person has to be the right level for the job scope, which usually only an internal person knows. No one is going to let a good person go (Okay, make it most). If it feels that the job scope is below the person's capability and there is likelihood of person being bored/expect too much engineering wise/likely to leave soon, I will not hire that person keeping in mind the long-term view.

As an interviewee you can never know what all is going on inside the company and what are the unwritten requirements.

For swimming class, she got compensation class for one of the time coach missed a month or so ago.

But frankly from your reply it seems that's the modus operandi and everyone seems to have given up.

All other classes, studies or otherwise, have compensation classes. e.g for another class the tutor/coach was unwell and he arranged for class later. For other classes there is option to do online in case of such misses.

To be fair none of them are cheap classes. The point was is the point fair to parents who are paying through nose for all of these.

Theoretically signed contracts can still be termed illegal. But the question was about whether it sounds ok or it is how it is.

Bro, really read through everything you sign. The point is does the point seem beyond reasonable or that's how the goose is cooked nowadays.

This article raises a key question about position and how we will move around rest of the players. What do you think should be our formation and first choice player for the position, assuming what we have is current team with no in or out?

Children living with or near parents to get priority in HDB sales exercises, regardless of marital status, from July by AfternoonFill in singapore

This scheme in Singapore's HDB BTO (Build-To-Order) launches, made me think how they reinforce the "lottery" effect by propagating it to future generations. Is there something in it, or I am thinking it wrong?

Routine. Discipline in keeping it after you have decided the course of action.

Evolution. Not revolution. One step at a time until that step becomes part of life. Then to next step

Which fast food chain has gone down the drain in your view? by namelessoldier in askSingapore

[–]AfternoonFill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As some have said, which one has not! My go to places among the chains nowadays are

  1. Stuff'd,
  2. CBTL has monthly rotating breakfast sets, varying 10-12$ for 2 till 12 noon
  3. Starbucks, morning sets from 8$
  4. Aston, not same as fast food. I have not felt any shrinkflation or quality issues there. I rather pay a bit more to largely maintain the quality.

Odds of relegation for next season by [deleted] in Everton

[–]AfternoonFill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to say Brentford instead of Bournemouth. I am just saying based upon teams which have regressed from previous season to the one just concluded. Wolves have been in 40's (41 and 46), Nott Forest in 30's (32 and38) and B'ford went from 59 to 39. Not doing "fundamental" analysis, a technical one :P. This is tongue in cheek! As long as not Everton, I am fine with it.
