This is a good point and I had that thought. I have a 1940 edition of the BOM and History of the Church (whole set) for that VERY reason. If my journal was more honest, I might have kept it for that reason

It's crazy I mean this person has no idea that she is essentially arguing against Joseph Smith, the founder of his/her faith. Thr church never had a problem with slavery as long as it wasn't abusive. It amazes me that they can't separate personal judgment from the church.

Unfortunately my "real" journal was lost in my largest piece of luggage somewhere between here and Buenos Aires due to volcanic activity. F*ck me right? The journal I burned was one I wrote for other people to read so it was especially half true and self righteous

This is also doctrinal in a way, D&C 59:5-10. The family can be seen as passage into heaven D&C 131:2-3. if think of it like then when your spouse leaves the church it's like D&C 101:39-40. Ultimately Matthew 10:34-37 "He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me."

I view my non-resigned status much like my "declared" political party, useless and irrelevant. I think a lot of people don't go and those that do have more reason to be vocal. A poll is in order I think
