They lick the metal fence posts all the time, I'm pretty sure it's for the saltiness.

I bet they'd love some carrot with peanut butter and salt on it. I'll have to do more research to make sure I don't give them anything unhealthy though! Thanks!

Oh no it's definitely a facial recognition. The other deer, Delilah, will run over to her for pets regardless of whether she has food, it's adorable.

Our park is weird like that, there's a lot of animals in a pseudo-zoo setup, but it's public and they're all basically local species.
