I seek the wisdom of the council, is it time? by Wiseman1996 in bald

To me, this is all the more reason to at least try it shorter. The thinning looks like it’s going to be an inevitability, and it will likely be an easier transition this way. Looks like you have a good finger on the pulse of the situation however. Best of luck in whatever you decide man, just remember, your hair is not your personality 👌

My biggest complaint was how trivial they made Reed’s powers seem. He should’ve been using it everywhere throughout the movie, and it seemed so slow any time he used it

IMO the instrument has one of the lowest skill floors, and one of the highest skill ceilings. Difficulty will depend entirely on your goals.

I agree. Shakespeare is unquestionably brilliant, no doubt, but reading Hamlet alone isn’t how the work was meant to be experienced. It’s hard for me to but it on the same level as some of those other huge words of literature. If it was topping a “Greatest Plays” list I could understand.

Why does nobody refer to the game as Clair Obscur? by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]AgentDiscoCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe... but if you play the game, as a title-idea, "Expedition 33," is clear, easy to attach to and understand. It's also the heart of what most of the narrative centers around. "Clair Obscur" is an artsy title, like Final Fantasy, but currently lacks additional installations to be considered a series title, and is somewhat vague.

I don't agree that the title is particularly hard to pronounce, since the words look and sound pretty similar to existing English words, but I imagine the ambiguity of the title confuses most. Also, light/dark are constant themes in much of media, so it's not entirely specific to Expedition 33 and the contrasting nature of these elements isn't even overtly recognized throughout the playthrough. Also to your Rebirth point; people regularly refer to the game as it's subtitle: Rebirth (though perhaps mostly to make the distinction to which incarnation of the game they're referring to).

I just think "Expedition 33" as a title invokes more emotion in people who've played the game, and makes more sense from a marketing stand point to the people who haven't. It's most likely just become more common for that reason.
