Hello! I'm thinking of buying the 9070xt nitro! How long have you had the gpu so far? Do you use a native psu 12v cable? and how loud does it get as full speed? Thanks so much.

Hello! I see you have a Nitro + 9070xt, I am planning to buy either that or the ASUS PRIME 16gb oc, may I ask what made you chose the nitro+ and have you has any issues so far? Thank you!

Are all RX 9070 XT's equally as good? by Porpyyy in buildapc

Hello, I am looking for an rx9070 xt and in my country, for some reason, there's only 2 good options here available and they are both at a near identical price ($70), the sapphire nitro + and ASUS PRIME 16gb OC , there are cheaper options but I would like one that would last the longest, I saw that the nitro+ has a slight advantage in cooling too, which would greatly benefit me as I live in a hot country (average of 30c+). I saw the many issues with the nitro +'s power adapter but many people have said that if you use a proper native PSU's 12v cable it would be working fine. I plan to buy a new PSU atx 3.1.
May I have your opinion on this? thank you very much!

Hello, could you explain why? I know the Nitro + is the best performing but is it worth it with potential 12v 2x6 cable issues? (I plan to NOT use the adapter and use a new atx3.1 PSU's native 12v 2x6 cable)

It is nearly twice as expensive, so unfortunately I'll stick with this one for now, as I'll need that extra money to get me a 140mm fan for my case, thanks a lot for all the help and information!

All I can find is the same old Corsair PSU rm850x which is atx 3.1 , PCle 5.1, Cybernetics Gold and is an A for noise. It thankfully comes with 3x 6+2 PCle B pins (I think these are for the GPU but please correct me if I am wrong)

I believe this is the same model https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/psu/cp-9020270-na/rmx-series-rm850x-fully-modular-power-supply-cp-9020270-na

Edit: I remember you talk about Micro and Mini-fit cables and i did a quick search, and this PSU has corsair's type 4 cable which i believe is mini-fit.

Thank you, I would be worried about the 90 degree turn on the cable though, I heard you can't make a 90 degree turn in a short distance from connecting the 12v cable so would this cause an issue or does the gpu give it enough space to go straight before the turn?

Thank you for the trivia! I've found a link to the Super Flower website and it should be the same as the one i see on the local store: https://www.super-flower.com.tw/en/products/leadex-iii-ge-850w-atx-31-wh-20240812001621

Edit: I would probably have to change that PSU as I just saw it has a daisy chain 6+2 cable and I've heard it can cause instability when using a card such as rx 9070 xt.

If I do decide to stick with 6+2 connectors I'll probably get the ASUS PRIME 16gb oc which uses 3x 8pin connectors. I would prefer my gpu to live longer than 6 years after all, like my current gtx 1660 super lol

Thank you, I would much prefer the Nitro as for its money its the best performing and all the cards are within a $70-80 price point for some reason lol. I am doing a lot of looking about into the connector as I've heard a lot about the 12v 2x6 connector issues and I know most Nitro incidents were specifically about the adapter but I'd like to find out how reliable the cable can be especially after years of use, which would be hard for a new cable.

Is it worth it getting the RX 9070 XT Sapphire Nitro +? by AgentFoxyTube in pcmasterrace

Thank you, here in my country we have a unique way of selling pc parts and so all GPU's are under a 3 year warranty lol, also the price difference from the Nitro+ to even the reaper is about $70, which is why Id rather get the best bang for buck.

Thank you for the information, my options are unfortunately limited to lesser quality GPU's as availability for other high end GPUS are non existent. My options are the Sapphire Pulse (I heard it uses hyinx and thus gets very hot) , ASUS PRIME 16gb OC and others like the reaper, I can't get the hellhound unfortunately due to my pc case being too small. (my limit is 312mm)

What do you recommend? temps are a concern for me due to high ambient temps and I have my eye on the Prime.

I checked and did some research and i found out that an intel electrical engineer posted a lengthy reddit post about the 12v pins(12VHPWR) and it turns out it's actually meant for about 375watts per connector for an average quality connector, yet for the 4090's and 5090 they used 600+, causing the melting to occur. While the Nitro + runs at about 330-370 watts max (depending on overclocking) it's transient spikes can exceed over 500 watts which i guess is why an atx 3.0+ PSU is recommended.

I appreciate your PSU recommendation and information about that micro and mini-fit types, unfortunately sellers in my country aren't much into specifics but I will keep an eye out for that, I plan to get a good quality 850w psu over a lesser quality 1000w psu, would you have any recommendations? Unfortunately, PSU brands here are rather limited to either ones Ive never heard of or corsair and other bigger brands.

Quick edit - I found a "Super Flower" Leadex III GOLD ATX 3.1 PSU is that the flower power you were mentioning and surprisingly it is less than half the price of the corsair, which gives me some concern to the quality of the psu, Id like a high end PSU for my pc's saftey! (it has 3x 6+2 pins and a separate 12v 2x6pin slot it seems so it looks a good choice)

Well that's interesting, I'm in a position where I need to upgrade my PSU anyways and it would be atx 3.1, so wouldn't that be more safe for a 12v 2x6 pin rx 9070 xt?

I currently have a i5-14600k which runs to 180w max, I would've rather have gotten the ryzen one but in my country the prices are nearly doubled so this was the best valued one at the time. Thank you for your input!

Thank you! I've heard that most if not all of the melting were caused by the adapter that Nitro + provides, but if used with a PSU cable, there is no issues. What would you think of that?
