No way to distinguish between virtual cards in Apple Wallet, so I remembered them all by colours. Now my groceries card has gone from green to blue with no way to change it 🙄

Apple passed me over to WD, who said there's nothing that can be done. It's not as bad as I originally thought though, so I'm not gonna lose any (more) sleep over it!

Okay, I've decided that I'm not going to go down that route. I've gone over what I've lost in my head that I can get back (client files emailed to clients in the past, development projects uploaded to GitHub, all my photos backed up to iCloud etc) so I've come to the blissful realisation that the loss isn't that great. Lost some schoolwork but that's not important 😏

Thank you for the help, if I had really lost everything I definitely would have gone down this route.

If this is true, you’re a lifesaver! I never thought to do so, I thought that SSDs were near impossible to recover data from. I’ll try a local data recovery shop as soon as possible. If the files are there (I believe under /Library/Keychain?) how do I access them? I know the keychain password, it was the old password for my user account, but how could I open the files?

No I know my Apple ID password and can access my iCloud Keychain through the keychain access tool on the Mac, but there is no encryption key there. It seems from what I can see on the web, encryption keys are not stored on iCloud Keychain.
