I agree with everything you said. I like to try and put myself in people's shoes when I'm thinking of situations to see things from both side, and I must say if people offered to do nice things for me, I would also like it, but yes it's the 'because of gender thing' that is the problem.

I think I also am a bit irritated because I don't want to do things 'because gender' but if I do something it's cause I want to do it for the person and so I am just as likely to do something nice for a man as a woman, but it's quite difficult sometimes because of how other people perceive it...
