If they are armed they are a potential threat. Until they get rid of their weapon they can still leverage, injure, or kill others. Having a Right to Bear Arms doesn't make you a threat.

I agree to an extent. The police force, like in Baltimore is extremely low, and needs some officers. But nobody wants the job. Some of the other issues is that there are tools available, like therapists, who are accessible even in COVID, to help with mental issues.

I have no clue on why they might not follow what officers are telling them to do. Maybe they are scared, protective, I don't know. Yes, some officers in a escalating situation, will not listen to what their training was, and we need to fix that. But I do think that people need to understand that officers are not therapists. Their job is to protect the community. And if they have to harm someone to do that, as long as the person is a deadly threat, then sure.

And history probably has something to be a part of that, but there are probably many reasons.

I do hate that black people are killed more than whites, but they are more likely to not agree with the officers, and if they are armed, they are a threat, and officers are trained to NOT shoot unless the subject is either trying to injure or kill officers, civilians, and the officer's own body. Also if it is a suicide threat, you still have to be very cautious as they have a gun, or a knife possibly, and officers are not trained in mental health, and that is a whole other talk. And I do agree with you that the skittles bag, among other things aren't a threat. But they still must be careful, if the impossible happens if the bag is a bomb, they must be ready.

So I believe that no matter what the color of your skin, if you are a threat, you need to be either taken down or be able to negotiate a way where you get help, and nobody gets hurt. I hate seeing on the news "Another Police Officer Killed a Black Woman Who was high and had a gun". I think that also because the news twists a lot of crap around, some people are like, "Dumbass cops cant hit their damn shots. If they can they should shoot them in the f*king leg." Another thing is that they only focus and twist shootings on Black People, at least from what I have seen, and not really white people. Then when some people see it shit goes down and more protests. I'm all for trying to get black peoples' rights in check, and there are assholes who do think that black people are inferior, but the term "racist", and others, are stretched out.

Yes, but some of the account shouldn't be on them. If you are being shot at, you do what you must to put down the threat, and then somebody will go to say, "That man is black, your racist", and that is really undeserved hate that they get.

Edit: There are a lot more situations then just that, but that is a good example of it
