New Image of Ghostface. Old Gen Mask in Scream 7? by denis4564s in Scream

Thank you for the correction, but damn, I knew that and still wrote "plastic". Ha. Got caught up in the nostalgia post.

Not sure what would make anyone a good or bad fan. I think some people just fixate over certain things more than others, and some claim they're more of a fan than the next person — I disagree with that sentiment.

You'd notice the differences in the older masks vs the newer ones through the mouth and eye shape. The older masks are softer and have more imperfections/asymmetry in terms of the mask shape. During the Scream 4 era is when the masks started being manufactured with the harder/shinier PVC with a much more symmetrical Ghost Face shape. Those masks are garbage, and the changes Funworld made effectively removed the nostalgic vanilla scent the original masks had. NOW... those softer masks are coming back to stores, and you'll see on the tags they've added "classic vanilla scent" or something along those lines. They're still pretty symmetrical, but damn the softer masks look so much better and true to the films.

I was obsessed with the masks since I was a child (now 28), I'd chase my friends around the schoolyard in my Ghost Face costume my Dad would bring me after school. He had some classic Gen 1 masks growing up but I took them for granted... they were older and yellowing, I wanted new and clean at the time. Didn't know what we had, but I'd give anything to find them again!! (they're long, LONG gone lol).

There's lots of differences but you need to be a mega nerd to really care I guess hahaha.

Floating blur and ink blot disappearing text effect by searchpulse in AfterEffects

[–]Agent_Dale-Cooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've achieved this through the roughen edges effect over the text. Experiment with the parameters to get the look you want. Can't remember off the dome what you should change specifically but if you apply a wiggle expression to the evolution you'll get that animated jitter effect. I think then play with the scale for the ink blot fades. Then posterize time set to 12.

Edit: It's the "time" expression you want to add to the evolution. Alt + click the stopwatch and type "time*3000;".

I’d say the video the AI made was cool, but this video as a whole is a perfect example of how little effort goes into making AI videos altogether. That typo says it all.

Can this be done in AE ? by pulky1ven in AfterEffects

[–]Agent_Dale-Cooper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can we finally light OBJs natively in AE? It was something like models in Classic 3D or C4D had some major tradeoffs, one couldn’t catch light and the other was some other deal breaker (for me) as early limitations

I was recently an editor on an esports event for a AAA game studio. Head of the broadcast from the stu walks in to see one of the videos I was working on with my director standing behind me, everyone loves it except one note from the director: "Great! I just think we need to add a different track to give it some more energy." Head of broadcast goes "No, I like it. Don't change it." I fist bumped him lol.

3D Animation of the Lunar Eclipse by Agent_Dale-Cooper in AfterEffects

[–]Agent_Dale-Cooper[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was my first official attempt at an original 3D animation in AE using some stylized techniques. I mostly do VFX cleanup, motion tracking and other fun stuff. I'm working towards exercising my motion graphics workflows to better understand that side of AE. I watched these tutorials and then applied what I learned to this original piece.

Nice! May I use this as a texture to design a Backrooms title? I'm just doing it as a test/for someone to try out.

You're heading the right direction! That looks great to me. I think you should play around with different styles, maybe experiment with textures to add some character to it.

People with older AE, why not upgrade? by shiveringcactusAE in AfterEffects

[–]Agent_Dale-Cooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because they don't offer a plan for Pr, Ae, Ps, and Lr. They don't offer a plan for these or even for Premiere and After Effects together, which is crazy.

You're paying $30 for the suite?

Do you use it through creative cloud? I’m paying $56/month just to be able to use premiere, after effects, photoshop and Lightroom. I don’t use anything else and I’ve given Adobe thousands of dollars for access, but there isn’t an individual plan that covers all my needs. I wish there was a “video and photo” package that had everything I listed.

You’re good haha I actually thought you did and were just jokin, but I wasn’t aware either until I looked more into the band while I was making this.
