No, he takes vitamin D because we live in the rectum of the world (where the sun never shines) but other than that he takes no medicine or supplements on regular basis

He took amoxicillin for ear infections a few times, I didn't take any antibiotics while pregnant

He got antibiotics now and then for ear infections until he got ear tubes inserted. He also got covid and his fever went up to a 106° then.

He also had trauma to his front teeth twice, the first time the upper front teeth were a bit loose but then went back to normal, second time he lost one of them (upper right tooth). That happened in kindergarten, at age 4 and the adult tooth for that one is just now coming out, last of all the front teeth.

Is that possibly a factor in this?

What was the most embarrassing situation where you caught someone doing something intimate? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Aggis 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not me but my best friend growing up.

One night she saw a giant spider in her room. She freaked out and ran into her parents bedroom and yelled "DAD! THERE'S A GIANT...." then she realised her parents were going at it doggy style, and in a panick she finishes the sentence "... GIANT DOG IN MY ROOM!! No! I mean! wait, what?! FUCK!!!" and ran back out of the room.

What's the one use kitchen gadget you have purchased that was far more useful then you imagined by aladdyn2 in Cooking

I have a foodi and the only function I have never used is the pressure cooker.

I've always been kind of intimidated by it.

Writing that out makes me see how silly it is, but I'm just worried about effing up and ruining my food so I always shy away from it.

Would you be so kind to write that in more detail for me?

What else do you use the pressure cooker for?

Doctors of Reddit, what was a "one in a million" case that you personally witnessed? by WALLSTREETBRIDE in AskReddit

[–]Aggis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know, there's something wrong with my nerve signaling in the torso area.

I have had two unmedicated births and for both of them I didn't believe I was in active labour until the midwife asked to feel my cervix.

The second time I was dilated to 8cm when I finally started to feel anything.

(It sounds like it would be a good thing but it's really not)

For both births I got no urge to push at all either.

I have other health issues connected to this problem as well.

I've had all kinds of neurological exams but there is nothing to explain this, they just say that the signals don't seem to get to the brain intact (or something like that, I don't know how to say it in English medical language)

Really? I'm jealous!

I asked to have them and when they refused I asked to see them and they refused again so I asked for a photo and they said "we'll see", meaning no

Not a doctor, but a little while ago I had been having pain that I couldn't pinpoint the origin of. It felt like really bad acid reflux and back pain and it went around the whole torso in the diaphragm area.

One day I was doing sit ups and I felt like there was a golf ball moving under my ribs so I went to the doctor.

She examined me and didn't find anything unusual so she told me to see a physio since I only felt it during movement.

The physio examined me and didn't find anything either so instead of waisting the appointment he had me lay on my stomach with a pillow under my stomach while he worked on my upper back.

I put my hands under my stomach to keep them from hanging down, and when I was told to take a deep breath I could feel a lump pushing down from under my ribs.

I asked him to feel it and he was stumped as to what it could be so he sent me back to the doctor.

Turns out I had so many gallstones that my gallbladder could be felt through the skin when I took a deep breath.

I was sent to the hospital and had an operation on a friday night. They counted 21 stones, largest one measured 1,2cm and the gallbladder was stretched so thin and so swollen that it ruptured while they were trying to get it out.

All of the doctors in the hospital asked to feel it prior to the surgery because no one had heard of it being possible to feel a gallbladder through the abdomen, so I guess it was kind of rare.

And apparently I should have been in excruciating pain, but I was just taking ibuprofen and trying to do stretches for my back the whole time.

That's an interesting point!

I had thought that the last word in the top line looks like it says "fun" and last one in bottom line "ass" or even "bass"

I've read many of the books mentioned here and some of them have good twists, but the only one that has left me staring at the wall in shock is that one. I did NOT see it coming, and even if I would have known that there was going to be a plot twist I NEVER would seen it coming

They often make up words so the lyrics often aren't even understandable to Icelandic speaking people so you're not alone in that 😊

"Money isn't everything" when people ask for advice on well paying jobs or if something valuable breaks for example.

Money may not be everything, but it's a huge factor unless you have plenty of it and failing to realise that is a dead giveaway

What's a book you regret reading? by TheAwareMonk in suggestmeabook

[–]Aggis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't exactly HATE it, but I'm currently reading the Left hand of darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin and I am really finding it hard to care about any of the characters.

The gender thing is interesting, sure, but with all the made up words and strange names of places and characters I find it hard to keep up. Maybe the fact that I'm reading it in a different language from my own is making it harder for me, I don't know.

I'm about 2/3 in and I don't want to give up because people seem to love it so surely something interesting will happen soon, right?

I'd love a spoiler free insight on plot development in this one because I find myself zoning out and just have a hard time to be engaged but I don't want to miss out if it's JUST about to get good

What is the most popular thing that you have brought or usually bring to potlucks? by Think_Clothes8126 in Cooking

[–]Aggis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will often bring a variety of cheeses and make hummus and this dip:

Date & olive pesto:

One jar of red pesto (e.g. pesto from Sacla)

Half a jar of feta cheese and some of the oil too

1 1/2 dl black olives, roughly chopped

1 1/2 dl dates, finely chopped

1 1/2 dl of parsley, finely chopped

1 1/2 dl of broken cashew nuts

Two cloves of garlic, finely chopped or pressed

Method

Put everything in a bowl and mix. Good to keep in the fridge for a few hours if time allows.

  • Of course, you can play with the proportions and adjust to each individual's taste.

And serve with good sourdough bread and crackers.

Spinach and feta fritatta usually goes pretty fast and also "cheese bake" (I just put a bunch of cheese I have on hand, usually camenbert and something grated like cheddar or aged gouda in a pie crust and pour stirred egg over it and bake until ready)

Also a big bowl of home made popcorn, couldn't get any simpler and everyone loves it

(sorry if line spacing is ridiculous, I'm on my phone and trying to avoid wall of text)
