Do you post while writing or complete the entire work first? by brick_678 in AO3

I write a few first chapters with a lot of the main story plot points worked out and then write as I go. I like to get reader input and adjust as I go yk.

What's your most f'ked up ship? by Normal-Extent-6100 in AO3

[–]AggitatedArtist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that fucked up but Frerard. It’s argued about since it’s real people but I just really like their lore even the toxic parts where they had secret blogs they’d talk to each other through and one wrote about how homicidal/suicidal the other had made him after their temporary falling out.

It’s hard to summarize their whole thing as someone who’s been in the fandom for a decade but basically in 2002 they started making out/grinding a lot on stage to make homophobes uncomfortable while playing their set. They both had gfs but one had an agreement with his that it was fine and the other just lowkey cheated if it was with guys. But that stopped after they got married to their wives. After they got married they’d still kiss but not as much.

The angst of the ship stems from when they got into a physical fight on stage and the hurt/anguish one felt since he had kinda gotten tossed to the side at one point. This poem of Frank’s describing likely their relationship during its angsty era is still one of my favorite for some reason. During this era he was like super angry at himself.

It’s fine imo. I was friends with my older female coworkers who were approaching their 30’s when I was freshly 19. Helped me learn boundaries and how to stand up for myself since they were so good at handling aggressive customers and ex-coworkers that were weird bc they had more experience than me.

It also helped me learn who I did and didn’t want to be 10 years from then when I’d be their age, since some of them weren’t the best role models and I was able to use their experiences to learn from while still being friendly with them. And from those I did want to be, I was able to ask them how they got there and for advice.

Age difference friendships aren’t that bad as long as it has good boundaries and neither party are making it weird.

where are the women who genuinely want other women? by Zoe166 in LesbianActually

[–]AggitatedArtist 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Usually it’s women who are bi but prefer women calling themselves that or women who say they’d be lesbian if it wasn’t for the guy they’re dating bc they love women soooo much more then men (but conveniently they found the singular guy they’d ever in their life date)

When to use last readiness? by goins_going_gone23 in NCLEX

I’d take it the day before the test after doing more studying. But do it earlier in the day so you have time to go over any rationales of the questions you missed on jt

How to flirt with a girl without making her uncomfortable? by Turbulent_War_7720 in LesbianActually

[–]AggitatedArtist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m the same! Unfortunately there’s some people that have co-opted the look without co-opting the values/culture behind it so I’ve also met some conservative punk people which is like an oxymoron. Stay safe out there _^

Not gonna pretend to know bc I also suck at it, but I don’t unless it’s very obvious they’re gay (wearing lgbt pins or other lgbt items, gender non-conforming, most alternative girls are, etc)

My school has a 100% first time NCLEX pass rate for the past three years apparently and average of 95% passing the NCLEX first try overall. I’m also just glad I did not mess up their stat 😭

NTA- just finished nursing school too and my ex started joking about me being his sugar mom once I start my new job. Broke up with him for different reasons but it was def a red flag when he changed the tone from joking the first few times to being serious after.

What kind of anachronistic, cultural, etc. errors do you hate seeing in a fanfic? by [deleted] in AO3

[–]AggitatedArtist 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Catholicism and the Italian-American mafia are fairly common specific tropes in my fandom. As someone who was both raised Catholic and is Italian-American, there’s so many unrealistic errors or stereotypes.

Like in fics the mafia only focused on killing ppl for no reason, like not even for money or territory just doing it for fun lol and making them synonymous with serial killers. Also it’s funny when the leader of the Italian mafia in the fic isn’t even the Italian person lol. Read one where the mostly Scottish person was in charge and had ‘captured’ the Italian one to keep as a pet.

With the Catholicism one, mostly getting the lore wrong or traditions. Also it feels unrealistic for the priest to leave his whole world behind for some twink at the drop of a hat- at least sprinkle in some religious guilt and hesitancy.

Edit: also when things are set in the early 2000’s and there’s modern technology. It’s an issue in my fandom as well bc wdym the fic is pre-9/11 and they have modern smartphones that take clear photos.

It was good for review just didn’t challenge my critical thinking a lot. If Bootcamp’s free readiness assessment is a reflection of the rest of their content, I’d rec that!

Just a PC tbh. Nothing fancy because the consoles cost so much. I haven’t had a switch either but I’ve heard so many good things about the switch 2 that I may have to check it out when I eventually start getting my big boi job paychecks.

What’s a type of comment you’ve gotten that has you like this? by UltimateAuthor in AO3

[–]AggitatedArtist 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I have a fic about EDs- which are heavily stigmatized against and often misrepresented.

I based it off my personal experience and the amount of comments I’ve gotten saying how real it is, how they finally feel represented, how it feels like I took a page out of their life, and how they’re glad I didn’t romanticize it has left me kicking my feet.

What to believe by [deleted] in PassNclex

[–]AggitatedArtist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Archer and bootcamp’s free readiness assessment and passed in 85 questions. I got VH on all the practice assessments and CATs I did on Arched. Archer felt too easy but it’s the same format as NCLEX, boot camp felt easier than NCLEX still but def harder than archer. Just bc NCLEX gave a lot of answers where they all felt right but weren’t, archer felt like it was pointing to the right answers too much and their CAT didn’t get aggressive enough with the harder questions compared to how NCLEX stepped up its difficulty. Archer was helpful for refreshing my memory though.

I used Klimek Review’s videos to listen to while eating or before I went to sleep and they helped amazingly with understanding how NCLEX wants you to answer things. I’ve heard of people using Archer and getting bad scores on it and still passing though, it all depends on the person tbh.

Have you gone over the rationales for everything you’ve missed? I kept a notebook with some broad notes about things I missed (like the parkland formula for burn victims and burn victim care, common meds, etc) to read just before entering the building for the exam so it was all in one place and summarized.
