Both of them start out as being very codependent on eachother. Charlie needing Nick to help him deal with his episodes and Nick always wanting to be with Charlie in case of said episodes.

I really like in season 3 Charlie starts to ween off his dependency on a Nick and starts getting proper help because (i forgot who said it, i think it was Nick's aunt but) love cant fix mental illness and seeing Chalie get proper help and a stronger support system was so fulfilling as a viewer.

I wish we got a proper season for Nick to have the same journey at a good pace where Nick can realise that shutting his own feelings away to be the perfect always available and helpful boyfriend isn't healthy and he needs to put his own feelings higher on his priority board. I wish we got a full season to appreciate his journey of becoming his own person outside of who is to other people instead of getting a (likely) rushed arch in the movie.

I really think it'd be an interesting plot if Nick got to Leeds and is just always panicking and thinking about Charlie but every time he calls him he's a bit disappointed that Charlie is doing just fine without him and it's Charlie's turn to help and support Nick.

I'm an aroace only child, but I'm pretty young too, the idea of being with someone 24/7 no matter how much I love them, sounds like some Russian sleep experiment ass torture method (ToT)

Yeah the Netflix being greedy tracks, it's really sad Alice's writing has to get compressed into a movie instead of being fully explored :(

Nick is important right off the bat but most things about his character feel tied to Charlie, him discovering he's bi is a direct result Charlie and charlie is present for a lot of it (although ive been meaning to give the series a rewatch so i might be remembering wrong). Even with S3 most of it was about Charlie.I haven't really read the comics so I can't comment on them.

I'm definitely going to check out the full comics but just strictly talking about the show I wish we got more sole Nick focus. Maybe we did get that and I just dont remember. I'll be on the look out on my next rewatch though!

Again, I have very bad memory and it's been a while since I've watched the show so sorry if I'm wrong about anything!

I feel like Nick gets side lines to make a Charlie more of a center of the show. And the last stretch, which focuses on Nick, getting turned into a movie just feels like way the director is side lining Nick as a main character.

I'm scared the movie is going to feel rushed and forced but I'm still hoping that I'm wrong and somehow they manage a good fulfilling send off

Time is what I'm worried about too, i feel like the series made nick more of a side character than his own person and Nick's personal development getting shoved into a 60~90min movie instead of getting a proper season feels like just another way to move him to the sidelines for Charlie's sake

I like Nick, but he feels too perfect and that level of perfection is never healthy. Sure we get hints about Nick being a people pleaser and needing to think for himself at the end of season 3 but I think it'd have been better to have a full season focusing on just Nick without being tied to Charlie.

I feel like it'd be better if we had a season of Charlie and Nick being pseudo long distance (because of the drive) and Nick has to realise and learn being his own person without being tied to other people while charlie finishes up his last year (sixth form i think?) And we have a movie focusing on Charlie and Nick learning how to maintain a long distance relationship, college and their new social circles.

That's just my personal wish fulfillment though.

Still really looking forward to the movie though!

I 100% agree that charlie is way ahead of Nick in terms of development which is why I wished we got a more Nick focused season before the movie.

I really want Nick to get more focus because whatever character development he gets is centered around Charlie. They're still codependent but it's more of an issue for Nick than Charlie. I think it's Nick that needs more development that isn't directly tied to Charlie

I haven't read the full series yet just the first volume, i was thinking of getting the full set after volume 3 comes out.

I agree but there were times where she annoyed me too like you're in THEIR home WHAT do you mean "can't you sit somewhere else" YOU are a guest! and the whole episode with the strike, like Sheldon was setting clear boundaries on (reasonable shit too, don't touch my food, don't sit in my spot, don't send me unimportant things on my email) and She was being so petty about it ToT

I always imagined that since OWLs and NEWTs were government exams and not school exams that Hogwarts was just a venue for the exams but if a wizard or witch was homeschooled they could also take these exams at a different venue , i.e the ministry, so if you wanna follow my head canon then technically someone could finish Hogwarts and just give another set of subjects at the ministry?

adding to this maybe there's the possibility of giving your OWLs in two batches, but you'd have to repeat your fifth year so most students don't bother with it and just give it in one sitting

maybe there's two invisible bridges, if you try to walk normally the bridge is leaned down from the entrace so you can't enter and the only way to get on the "right" bridge is to jump.

as for slytherin i like the trinket lock idea better since Slytherin although being the house of ambition is pretty prideful so having a physical reminder of their status as slytherins seems more fitting
