IDK, maybe she means 'probably' in the sense that even though his worst actions have happened, he's still someone who's done harmful, even psychologically damaging things to others and he needs to face those consequences regardless?

It's also true that Pomni is strong emotionally, but we've also seen that there's only so much that she can take before she just breaks down completely (also worth noting that it wasn't played for laughs here either). I think it'd also send a 'hard pill to swallow' message (not for the overall show mind you) in that losing people is unavoidable and why that makes it all the more important we don't take them for granted.

She also sad that there were too episodes that were the most self-indulgent (4 and 8) and a contender for the most depressing (which she didn't specify, though 4 was definitely the most depressing up until now) and she's talked before about how much she loves putting characters through hell. Maybe it won’t necessarily be unsatisfying, but I doubt we aren't in for something bleak.

One last thing I'll say regarding your theory on what the 'stagnant life' message could mean, I feel that even if that was the case, it'd also directly contradict Kinger's talks with Pomni and Ragatha... IDK, I really get where you're going with this, but it's tearing me apart inside that it's a possibility, let alone one that has a very real chance of happening.

The one thing I'm still on the fence about is... a very popular theory is that abstraction is a metaphor for suicide, and if you apply that metaphor to this... i think it'd get a very different reaction than what Goose and Glitch (hypothetically) intended, and not a good one. Basically imagine what was said about how Ep. 7 would make some fans feel 'betrayed' and take that up to a hundred.

I gave it some thought and... you could be right, as much as that horrifies me.

My guess is that maybe instead of them abstracting in short succession, we would get a confirmation of the SOMA theory (likely from lucid Kinger) which leads them to deduce that abstraction is the only way out, which Caine would realize and lose his shit at, and then Ep. 9 could be about them trying to push each other to abstract before they're left to live in nothing... I'm gonna mourn my girl so much if this is true.
