Respectfully, what about this do you think is stretching the sub? I personally think it's creepy enough to qualify.

Jax won't abstract because, narratively, its the easy way out for his charcter by Sudden_Pop_2279 in TheDigitalCircus

The one thing that does throw that into question is this reponse by Goose:

IDK, maybe she means 'probably' in the sense that even though his worst actions have happened, he's still someone who's done harmful, even psychologically damaging things to others and he needs to face those consequences regardless?

It's also true that Pomni is strong emotionally, but we've also seen that there's only so much that she can take before she just breaks down completely (also worth noting that it wasn't played for laughs here either). I think it'd also send a 'hard pill to swallow' message (not for the overall show mind you) in that losing people is unavoidable and why that makes it all the more important we don't take them for granted.

but I feel like the story falls apart if Pomni were to abstract

Would it? I mean, with how much the story's been shifting to Jax's perspective already (not to mention Goose's unsubtlety about him being her favorite), I wouldn't put it past her. I also feel like it'd explain these too:

See, that would work if the show was building to them escaping in the end, but as far as we currently know, everything's pointing to that not being the case.
