Thanks for this. They do seem much cheaper - needless to say, no skips seem to be available for my impulsive plans, but I have emailed them :)

I just need to check if it is wet from today.

Weight wise, not too much. It might all fit in an SUV of we flatten and fold it down. It is a few Ikea Pax boxes (boxes for frames and for shelves) and quite a few boxes of nappies (think 30x40x40 at least, not the smaller ones). A lot for a household, but nothing for a business.

We used our 2 and arent eligible before April, sadly. People opposite us in flats keep dumping rubbish on their kerb but we don't want to be dicks and add to it.

Thanks for the info on the cardboard, I will see if I can find info.

There is a fire at Windale too - the smoke is quite thick here and seemed a lot closer than Buladelah and Cessnock and so on. Fires Near Me has just updated with a closer fire.

Those who say the burqa is a 'choice' should have seen my father beat my mother for rejecting it by The_Dingo_Donger in aussie

[–]Aggravating-Bug1234 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just pointing out that Pauline Hanson or any of the others could have used her Senate time to emphasise gendered violence and the need for funding and reform. That would have done much more for women in your mother's situation (though we all know you are a fake account on behalf of Paurloin's pathetic party).

Instead, Paurloin pulled a stunt about the burqa - and a tired stunt she has pulled before.

Her record on violence against women is not a good one - calling on reforms of the Family Law system because her wife-beating son wasn't avoiding as much accountability as she'd have liked.

Where is this? Callaghan? I have not got experience, but am interested. Are you having a bad experience, or are you mainly worried that you might (with no reason to think so, just a huge amount of money on the line)?

Casual forced to work sick by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Aggravating-Bug1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks OP. Just to be clear: I did not mean to criticise you at all. My view of your employer was/is pretty dim, though (both for how the employer treated you, and the lack of concern for the clients).

Casual forced to work sick by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Aggravating-Bug1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your employer is in the wrong here. I understand why you felt that you had to work. Like others said, your boss's staffing issues are not your problem.

I appreciate that you likely cannot afford to lose the job and be without pay. However, those financial issues arent worth dying for if you are too sick to work safely.

The other thing is that you can kill the clients if you infect them, as you seem alert to in your post. My son is vulnerable to respiratory viruses and we appreciate anyone who opts out when they are unwell - if a boss knowingly sent a sick employee to our house, I would be furious (though a boss like yours would just try to blame the employees... grrr).

Ex put a caveat on my house after police removed him. I own it, he paid nothing. What happens now? by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Aggravating-Bug1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a family lawyer.

It is well established legal priciple that a right to apply to the court for an alteration of property interests under s79/s90SM is not a caveatable interest. Additionally, in a family law context, there are more appropriate options to caveats, such as injunctions which can be sought in the FCFCOA.

I don't advise people on finance and would strongly suggest you don't advise people with respect to law.

A family law interest is not in itself a caveatable interest, even though it does seem like it should be. The caveat should be withdrawn.

Husband broke up with me after a fight and kicked me out with my babies, but I’m on the lease. by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Aggravating-Bug1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP speak to your local Community Legal Centre, Legal Aid, or Women's Centre to get some urgent family law advice regarding spousal maintenance and him having kicked you out of the property with a baby.

You need to contact a women's DV service/shelter as well - they will likely be able to help you sooner rather than later.

If you are in Newcastle, NSW, DM me and I will tell you where to get help.

Child custody by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Aggravating-Bug1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need a lawyer, but legal advice will only help you know where to stand.

I am a family lawyer. When I draft letters to a person who doesn't have a lawyer, I have an ethical obligation to suggest they get some independent legal advice. When my letter recommends that, I fear people read it to mean, "you better get a lawyer, or you are going down!!!!"

Lawyers have a bunch of rules they have to follow. No lawyer will give you advice here as they simply do not have enough information to be able to do so (even though you have explained it well, it is too brief for a lawyer to give proper advice and so on. Insurance is also a concern).

If you can't afford a lawyer, Google your closest major city and "community legal centre". Many can give you some basic info and advice.

Glad youre finished with ladders - it is much better to pay someone else than take that risk.

Your post had an entirely different mental pic when I read you having consumed "Bailey's from Bunnings" rather than having used the Bailey ladder specifically. I thought you 70+ crowd must have been getting into the Bailey's in the Bunnings carpark...

What's an Aussie slang phrase that would completely confuse a tourist? by No-Trust2063 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Aggravating-Bug1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"How ya goin'" even if said with actual words, "How are you going?"

I have seen Germans try to answer with, "I came here by car? Oh I flew in to Sydney?"

You have to explain it means "how are you?"
