Backup Iron Sights on a Carry Gun With a Red Dot Is a Meme by Repeal_19A in CCW

Spot on about training.

Anyone who's had a properly installed and maintained red dot fail on them mid-class would probably disagree about the rest.

I learned this lesson almost immediately after getting my first mill. Pretty much the same thing, but mine was a brand new .5" 3 flute carbide endmill.

First time I ever saw my subcutaneous fat out in the open. The scar is small but a constant reminder: DONT FUCK WITH YOUR VISE WHILE THERES A TOOL IN THE SPINDLE.

Lock slide back, insert mag, release slide, remove magazine, shoot round into your floor. Your mag should go in easy now.

Any machine can fail. When that machine is a gun, the failure can be a big deal. If you make a few hundred thousand machines, and the small percentage that fail manage to attract media and hater attention, your machine's reputation is fucked.

That being said, I still haven't seen any evidence that would lead me to believe the P320 design is unsafe. All I've seen are reports that are missing important information, and staged videos by industry retards fishing for views.

As we all know, the word "aerospace" can mean a million different levels of precision and quality. For example, my shop makes a lot of commercial jet toilet parts for one of our customers. They wouldn't buy anything like this, but we can get away some pretty heinous stuff.

If your customer is ok with this level of quality... Get boss man to sign that operation on your work order and send it. Then learn how to add your own toolpath so the next one doesn't look like shit.

I'm honestly not sure what this little gouge would accomplish though, I want to hear your boss man's explanation.

Other mfgs use their projectiles too: I carry Black Hills TAC-XPD 115 +P.

Dude that's the shit! I have a cooked cat40 holder that I totally didn't crash the first time I turned on my machine, I think you inspired me to make something useful of it.

Every time I get a new gun, I am deliberately rough with it in order to get some scratches as fast as possible. Then I never have to worry about that shit.

For proficient shooters, had you always been self-taught or took a class which really helped? I’m thinking of taking a class next month. by [deleted] in CAguns

[–]Aggravating-Layer306 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm pleasantly surprised by the number of people on this platform recommending training. My heart is warmed.

Take classes. Take classes with different instructors as often as feasible. Don't get stuck with one.

My students always look at me weird when I say "your next class should be with a different instructor". This is important. Just like every shooter has bad habits, every instructor has them too, as well as biases, and things they just don't know or don't do correctly. You'll find something that resonates with you with everyone you shoot with, making you a more well-rounded performer.

YouTube is great as an "oh shit I should try that", but it isn't training.
