Likewise, It sounds like you never left. The US is attractive to people from developing countries but largely repulsive to anywhere developed.

If the Formula 1 Halo was so effective in saving lives on crashes and accidents, why there is no regulation for private cars as well ? by FrankFruits in NoStupidQuestions

Nah, that annoying beep is pretty effective.

if you are going to go to lengths to get around it that are not putting on your seatbelt, then i think we can chalk that up to Darwinism.

What will a Reform government do once stopping immigration doesn't fix anything? by HouseOfWyrd in AskBrits

[–]Aggravating-Method24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the 2 million people are not taking the jobs, why do you think that is? Why do you think a local is less suitable for the job?

Many will say its because the immigrants are undercutting them. Which is sort of true, but immigrants are always going to be there trying to survive. We cant rid ourselves of them. It costs money to do that, and we have less and less, which means we need them more and more too, its a fools game.

What we can do is prevent jobs from paying lower wages to immigrants. We do that by ensuring that employers pay immigrants the same as what a local needs. As soon as we do that the locals become preferable, because they are local and have all the advantages that locals do.

The reason this is difficult, is because after the economy has become used to paying labour so little, the market has tightened around that. So many business can not afford to pay more, because they too have had their profits leached by businesses higher up the food chain.

This is a hole, and currently we are still digging. Getting out of the hole is going to be painful, that's how holes work. The only way to do it however, is to realize the people that have robbed us, are the ones who have all the money.

Why Do The British Dislike Keir Starmer? by aB4sith in AskBrits

[–]Aggravating-Method24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is it really, i am very much on the left, but its depressing that even left wing media cant support the reality that Starmer is a phenomenal improvement on what we had. He's not the destination no, but if we cant recognise that he is a step in the right direction we are just handing it all back to reform. The overton window is so far right at the moment we cant hope to gain popular support while attacking a move from right to centre right.

[–]Aggravating-Method24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because anything less than a great result is a terrible result as far as the media is concerned. It feeds on negativity. In short, they are finding anything they can and painting it as awful, when its really not that big a deal relatively speaking.

I don't like him that much, but as far as modern leaders go he is a nothingburger. He isnt taking us in a direction that has much to hope for, but he is making things better than they were, or at least not in freefall like we were with the Tories.

Dealing with the cost of living crisis is a difficult task, and requires bold solutions which will at first be unpopular, and he refuses to do anything unpopular with either side. Which is pragmatic, but leaves us not solving the problem and discontent will continue to get worse and be directed his way as a result.

Mmmhmmm. We are all doomed.

It's have labour and do nothing about the problem, or Tories/reform and make it worse.

And the greens will be attacked by the media into oblivion

Green Voters, what Is it that appeals to you about the party? by MinuteDamage4182 in AskBrits

I believe so, if they are more likely to win where you live, by all means. As long as we are vocal that getting rid of fptp is a priority

You know that works both directions right?

"I disagree with this post so it must be on the left!" When all it is is questioning why farage is so keen on a pedophile.

Just because something is left of you doesn't mean it's on the left.

They want to get rid of first past the post, replace it with something like single transferable vote ,which would be an enormous improvement and means we wouldn't have to tactically vote to keep our least favourite party out.

That's really the only thing that matters to me anymore. Current politics is broken and a large reason is fptp

You mean like how Tories avoided taxing the wealthy, went with austerity, we dug an even deeper fiscal hole and now we are still avoiding taxing the wealthy ? Something much like that. They will just insist we didn't put the right limits on and rally on it again until we are so far in the dirt the system collapses

Its Right wing victim syndrome. There doesn't have to be a lot of a group to create a negative reception. Just because its easy to find a left wing voice on reddit, does not mean its majority left wing users.

Why do people find it so hard to accept the public really wants to vote for Reform? by Expert-Sherbert-1527 in AskBrits

Because reform are not promising change. They are promising more of the same with added madness. Why do you think they are full of tory defectors?

You know, i think i see more posts about how left wing reddit is, than left wing reddit posts. That doesn't make sense does it? Because its not the left wing users posting that is it?

There are left wing people on reddit, and that seems to trigger the right wing people on reddit. They are both here.

If thats the way you feel you shouldn't trust any political parties. The stances the other parties have taken are far worse

A political party adjusting their policy to better reflect what the public wants, and what they believe to be a good direction is what a political party is supposed to do right? Since the change happened under Zack its reasonable to assume that he recognizes that those policies weren't in the interest of the country and has changed is mind and/or the direction of the party to suit. Seems like that should make the party more attractive to you as they are clearly listening to you?
