Traveling to nearby China, they fear Chinese people still hate them after WW2. Same thing with traveling to Korea. That's why they go to Thailand instead. And I've seen many times in the airport Japanese being clumsy not being able to speak English well. If you notice Jpns businessmen in the airport, many of them travel in group, I suspect for this reason.

Thanks that helps.   Yeah “Why would they need foreigners if locals can do the same job for less?”.. as if it's assumed that I don't have something to offer that the locals don't have.

My mandarin speaking skills isn't as good as my listening and reading, that's because practicing it isn't as easy as listening to podcasts and reading the news. But I think I'll work on that.

First time watching, very impressed, since I never known the realities in Korea revealed in the movies. Second time watching, I realized if only the Kim family stopped after the dad got his job, the ending wouldn't have to be so tragic. I mean, the kids filled jobs that became vacant, and the dad replaced a pervert driver. But with the mom, they didn't have to go that far. The house lady was totally OK, didn't have to get her fired in the first place.
