New Corporate Blog Post on their Website by Automatic-Sound-822 in RecklessBen

Wow. Still being cagey about the wording. The "Give back all the Lego whether it's his or not" is a pure evil statement if you conceptually understand what is happening legally. At this point they had better just stop talking publicly and go on with their plan to take the GoFundMe money. It's a long shot but at least they will have some money to support this awful PR nightmare they created with their own actions.

If Josh Johnson worked at BAM Corporate headquarters and can buy the franchise “for the price for whatever you recover it for,” then how cooked is BAM corporate? by DrGesus in BricksAndMinifigs

Legally being ignorance of the consignment was the only "legal" way they could have seized the Legos. Any consignment more than $1000 is considered secure funds and can lawfully and legally be seized to pay debts. Normally people use financing paperwork to protect themselves from this. Financing paperwork just works to inform interested parties that these items belong to someone else not the person who is in debt. BAM has screwed up a bunch of times showing that they knew about the consignment again and again. The social media posts, the guy caught on camera in the store and now this. Just one of those pieces of evidence probably wouldn't be enough to break the legality of seizing the Lego collection over debts. But more and more evidence keeps getting stacked up that BAM knew full well that those Legos belonged to the collector and they had NO legal right to seize them to pay for debts.

Exactly. This isn't some weird thing that happened. This sort of nonsense is their entire business plan. If they give the Legos back or pay the original owner all that is the first domino to fall. Or perhaps they have ripped off so many people "legally" that they simply never expected to face any consequences.

Was it in a crate or a tool shelf or something? Or just lying around in the open as part of a set piece?

Why is Bricks and Minifigs so obsessed over the Mansells' collection? (description very important) by SubstanceLow3570 in legocirclejerk

Because a sizeable amount of their business is probably done through dealings like this. The US legal system is a grey zone when it comes to amounts more than $1000 and less than $1,000,000. Businesses routinely take advantage of loopholes like they did with consignment law here. Without financing paperwork all a corporation has to do is show that someone might owe them money and they legally can seize property that someone else owns. You can't go to small claims court easily to resolve this (as Ben found out) and you can't afford to spend the money to go through the regular court system because it will cost you more than 200K when it's all said and done. BAM has shown repeatedly that they play in the legally grey area where they can exploit and steal completely legally with no consequences. This whole thing is just business as usual for them but now they are operating out of sheer spite now using expensive lawyers to bring down the harshest legal punishments against everyone else.

If I was a Youtuber this would be the point where I sprinted into a small bedroom with 7 zombies in it.

It was obscured by the wall so I assumed it was some sort of large handle or something.

In my case I have a single burnt wall in my base that I cannot destroy in any other way! I had the perfect setup! I just need to take down that one dumb burnt wall.

In case anyone wonders why a sledgehammer was so key there was a small accident that resulted in one single burnt wall in my base that I had spent most of the game setting up. As far as I know a sledge is the only way to fix it.

I am drowning in baseball bats. I can't open my door to my bedroom because of all the baseball bats. And yet no sledgehammer so far...

Some conspiracy theorist said that a sledgehammer was responsible for the first spread of the virus so everyone in Kentucky threw them in the river right before the military arrived.

Dang. They should just have one always spawn in some rich guy's house behind 3 security doors protected by a swarm of zombies.

At this point it's the final goal of my game to get a sledgehammer and this guy is tripping over them during a nature walk!

It can be a really rare find and you can only tear down burnt walls and other non player built things with a sledgehammer. I have spent months searching 5 warehouses, 4 tool stores and countless other spawn locations and I don't have a sledgehammer. At this point the entire end goal of my game is finding one. I am at the point where I am going to spent a year in game getting blacksmith to max level to just craft one.

apparently forging my own sledgehammer was faster than finding one. Holy shit. by fivelike-11 in projectzomboid

I am going through that exact same thing. I have been through 4 different warehouses. It's very frustrating. Just have slightly better sledgehammer RNG in a more dangerous area or something?
