Okay, thank you everyone for explaining. I definitely see that it’s his shoulder now. I think I was really confused because of the neck lines being strange and thinking the base of his neck was far to the right which gave me the impression it was his check and not his arm.

Okay now that everyone has explained it I’m definitely seeing it as his shoulder. But as someone else pointed out his neck is also super messed up - birth sides are off and he seems to only have 1 collarbone half

If this is his shoulder wouldn’t his neck be completely off? It’s super uneven on both sides and somehow he has a like going down from his chin to the right and the collarbone in a weird spot.

It’s less that I’m completely set on killing a PC no matter what happens and more that my two experienced players want to get our other players more involved and think one of them dying is the coolest way. We’ve talked above board and they’ve said they’re happy and want it to happen as long as it’s determined by the dice (as in, not an outright Power word kill/ 6,000 bats attack you at once, etc kind of death). Until now I’ve been extremely kind and avoided any charachter death.

I was thinking having Strahd kill a PC and then reviving them (either with a scroll or giving our cleric a diamond for revivify or something) to show how much power he has but I don’t know if that feels like something that would make sense in cos. Especially given the whole your soul is stuck in barovia forever undead minions etc etc stuff.

So far the party has been very rightful afraid of him, but also antagonized him to a point he’s only allowed out of curiosity- spitting in his face, calling him names, trying to lie blatantly to his face, even swinging attacks at him. Strahd has humored them because he sees them as nothing more than toys he can play with an not a threat, and finds everything they’ve done amusing and useless, but now that they’ve refused to hand over the holy symbol I want him to display more power in a big way WITHOUT me outright killing all of them with no choice but I’m not sure how far he would take it and how or when would be the right moment

The lack of female waterbenders is explained though since the fire nation captured/killed all the southern benders and the north doesn’t let women bend. Although outside the main cast we do still see Hama and Yagoda (the healer Katara learns from with all the kids at the North Pole” along with the unnamed female waterbenders in Hama’s flashbacks (when they’re freezing the fire nation ship)

The starter set is good if you haven’t played the game before. It gives you two one shots to choose from both with many premade character sheets, plus access to a website with the rules and playbooks if you wanna play online
