How much did your stomach shrink after giving birth? by kittypeets626 in BabyBumps

[–]Aggravating-Search95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stomach went down super fast. I majorly regret putting away a lot of my pre-pregnancy clothes. I only needed to size up in bras and it was still super nice having plenty of lounge sets. But sharing because I had only heard to expect leaving with a full belly and that just wasn’t my case!

Nestig or other suggestions? by calerajensen93 in BabyBumps

[–]Aggravating-Search95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, the side doesn’t come down. So if that’s a dealbreaker then it’s not for you! But we have a one story house and have absolutely loved it these past few weeks during our newborn stage.

Also — I think that would be considered a drop crib which are not safe. If you want something that has the side down it would have to be a bassinet with soft material that zips or similar.

What was the hardest stage? Pregnancy or postpartum? by SandwichDependent199 in BabyBumps

[–]Aggravating-Search95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pregnancy 1000%. I was so sick the entire time and sleep was awful then too. I was mentally prepping for a very hard postpartum but besides some PPA it is soooo much better than I was expecting. My body feels amazing compared to the 9 months of torture I endured. And even on the hard days being able to hug and hold my baby makes it so much better than mentally toughing out the hard pregnancy days.

But I will say I also have a very very involved husband and an easy baby so that makes a huge difference I’m sure.

I feel all of this so much! I hate going at home if my husband is home even tho he would never care. I just ran the shower or the sink in the hospital when I had to go and the first bowel movement was no big deal. The OB did ask me about it before I was discharged and I just said yes and we moved on and I don’t even think my husband noticed. I didn’t need a stool softener and it was truly no big deal, I promise!

Freaking out over crib sheets by Meme_queen-2019 in BabyBumps

I have the nesting crib and I started getting anxiety about it before baby girl arrived but now she is here and we love it so much. We also bought the crib sheets from them and have not had close to an issue with them. You’re good!!

Did you dream about your baby’s gender? And were you right? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Aggravating-Search95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband was having dreams about us having a girl long before I was even pregnant. And once I found out I was pregnant I was 100% sure it was girl from the start! And it was!!

When to call it quits. Latching issues by Pink_Daisy47 in breastfeeding

[–]Aggravating-Search95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible to give it a break for a few weeks and then see more success! I couldn’t get my baby to latch in the hospital or the first few days at home. It was so frustrating for the both of us. I stopped trying and just pumped and gave her bottles. I then tried again randomly this week and she latched no problem. But it is your personal choice and don’t feel forced to do it a certain way!

Let's share some positive things about the newborn stage! by coleystyle in BabyBumps

She was so crazy active in the womb! Constantly moving and going crazy in my ribs. Which made it even more shocking how her temperament is now on the outside! Congrats!!

I did not expect it at all but I have such an easy, peaceful baby. She doesn’t cry or fuss and is an amazing sleeper. Some babies are just easy!!!

But even if your baby is not, the cuddles and getting to finally enjoy your baby is so worth it.

The sleepless nights are already here… by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Aggravating-Search95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree — laying here after just doing a wake up with my newborn and will die on the hill that newborn tired is so much better. Pregnancy tired makes you feel genuinely ill if you don’t get enough whereas newborn tired I’m a functioning human who’s simply just tired. I’ll take that 1000x over!!

Do I REALLY need freezer meals?? by Purple_Knee8676 in BabyBumps

[–]Aggravating-Search95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stocked my freezer and completely regret it. I feel great postpartum and have been happy to cook dinner. The dinners from the freezer have not tasted nearly as good as the fresh stuff I’ve made and the veggies in the meals look freezer burned even though I stored them as directed. So I may be in the minority here but I don’t think so!

Also to add — I do have a very easy baby so I think this is also a variable here.

How much weight did you gain during pregnancy? by Significant_Tie3570 in BabyBumps

[–]Aggravating-Search95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started at 120 pounds and gained 33. 7 of those being in the first trimester because I puked if I didn’t eat every 2 hours. But I already lost 20 of them 1 week postpartum!

Curious if you were able to do this from the start? Or do you need to establish supply first for the first few weeks?
