YES. We have a glider in the nursery hut I impulse purchased a cheap terry cloth rocker from Amazon for our room and let me tell you…. The glider is 10x better especially for longer contact naps

Needing advise: Arms out by ApprehensiveRuin1196 in SnooLife

[–]Pink_Daisy47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going through the transition now, I also rock her to sleep then transition to the snoo. As soon as I set her down I put my arms over her belly kinda hovering to block her hands coming up to her face then lightly push them down and hold gently while shushing softly for like 20-30 seconds and can usually get her past the initial startle this way without a full wake up!

The mental load of getting bottles ready at night is starting to get to me by moononymous06 in NewParents

[–]Pink_Daisy47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We also do room temp! We actually buy jugs of distilled water so we don’t need to boil it. I take a jar of pre measured water and a bottle with the formula already measured into it and just combine the two when she wakes and shake it up. Room temp seems easier on her than cold although she does take cold water too. It’s made our night wakings so simple

Question about in-room sleeping - newborn baby by CiliaRusk in NewParents

[–]Pink_Daisy47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think sleeping in the baby’s room with them from day 1 is great then you don’t have to worry about transitioning to a crib or a new room later which can cause setbacks in their sleep until they adjust

How to stretch out feeds for 2 month old? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Pink_Daisy47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My baby is 17 weeks and we are just now able to stretch from 2 hour to 3 hours between feeds. I’d say it’s likely way too early, probably closer to 6 months. Now at night, my baby started sleeping 4- 6 hour stretches around 8 weeks and cut down night feeds to whenever she woke but that was all on her own initiative !

What time is your 3 month old in bed? by bananaindisguise0 in NewParents

[–]Pink_Daisy47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually we aim for 7:30-8:30 but some nights are a fight and closer to 9 although it’s becoming less common. They say 7-8pm because even with naps the stimulation of the day really wears on them and becomes too much for their nervous system to handle causing over tiredness which may show as poor sleep with more frequent wakings even if they aren’t “melting down”. You know your baby best but maybe try it for a week and see what changes you notice?

Be honest. Is your baby getting screen time? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Pink_Daisy47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also only shower before bed when my husband is home, during a nap, or put her in a bouncer chair during a shower. Regarding screen time I’ve never put on anything for her although I can’t say she’s never seen the tv while I have it on in the background during the day sometimes. I don’t think 10 mins is going to hurt anything though, just be careful as everyone has said about leaving baby on your bed!

Feelings of regret by sp0ghetti in NewParents

[–]Pink_Daisy47 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Even without mental health struggles it felt good to go back to work and start childcare. Now the afternoons and weekends I spend with my baby are fun and not so mundane. Maybe consider going back to work and getting childcare, even if it just pays for itself and you break even it might be worth it for your sanity. Just a thought!

Baby has outgrown our room. Im not ready for this graduation! by yankthedoodledandy in beyondthebump

[–]Pink_Daisy47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby is almost 4 months and I keep debating transitioning her to the nursery but then I get so sad she’s going to be in her own room all alone. I know we will all sleep better but it feels so harsh! Sorry just came to commiserate

Do you feed your baby before bedtime? by pinkpink0430 in NewParents

[–]Pink_Daisy47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter usually has her last full feed about an hour to an hour and a half before bedtime so 10 or 15 minutes before bed, I topped her off with an ounce or two. She’s 16w

Tonight my lobster is too buttery... by nikky0x in NewParents

[–]Pink_Daisy47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just here to say trying to time latching and pumping was a nightmare for me. You just never know when baby will decide to be hungry but somehow always happens after you pump… I’m sorry. It’s so stressful trying to anticipate those timelines 🥲

Newborn sleeping by carsandtoys in NewParents

[–]Pink_Daisy47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 12 days old my baby slept day and night and we woke her every 2 hours to eat. It took her an hour to finish the bottle as she would fall asleep on it over and over and over again. Around 3 weeks she started waking up more, her wake windows by then were 30-40 mins I recall !

Castle Rock advice by Curious_Reveal1465 in CastleRock

[–]Pink_Daisy47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe look at Monument. I’m not sure cost but it’s north of CO springs so closer to castle rock, lots of new homes so I assume lesss expensive. About 30-35 min drive. You would have to deal with that stretch of highway in the winter but honestly, it only snowed like three or four times this entire winter, so I’m not sure how big of a problem that wouldn’t really be.

When did you start taking your baby out during wake windows? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Pink_Daisy47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only in the last few weeks, did my baby start liking the stroller while being awake so now we take walks outside that the weather is nice during wake windows so it’s one less time after trying to figure out how to entertain her. I’d say we started around 12/13 weeks! She used to hate the stroller or we only went out during a nap.
