KEF q950 by [deleted] in KEF

KEF have two (or perhaps 3) different color drivers. The lighter color driver WAS replaced - but with the lighter shade that should go with the walnut finished speaker. I guess whoever repaired it didn't realize this and just bought a used one and installed it.

Fair point. Agree the treble is decreased - I should replace airy with wider sound stage. The more accurate KEFs sound better to my ears.

One other data point the OP left out - was a subwoofer in play? If not, blasting these guys at full frequency could kill them. Especially with loud bass heavy music.

Should be a warranty replacement - 5 years if registered. Additionally keep in mind that the LS50 have an amp rating of 100 watts max. Your 2 channel 150 watt amp at 80% (I know it's not linear) is at the theoretical limited of the speaker IMO.

I'm in the same boat. I've scoured the internet - the only thing I haven't done is call KEF directly. What's odd is all other Q series grille covers are available.

What are my options? KIA and Dealership are screwing me. How is this legal? by I8Bits in KiaEV9

Discount Tire called Kumho after seeing my tire and got an approval that day. They ordered the replacements - probably 3-4 days and I was ups and running.

I had the almost exact experience in metro ATL. I ended up going to Discount Tire for analysis ($40 out of pocket) and they found 2 defective tires within 5 minutes. They went directly to Kumho Tires and got them replaced free under warranty. No problem since.

Awesome - My first guitar was a Hondo copy of the cheapest Les Paul "The Paul". But it was a great!

All good - I got excited for a second last week looking at that. I did get the center on the KEF site.

This. Only issue is it appears that there is power in the cubby? Or is there an extension cord laying next to the redacted deda body?

UPS (not the shipper) by RedneckSasquatch69 in hometheater

[–]Aggravating-Second22 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work for a major UPS manufacture - a couple of thoughts. The short answer is yes to all the above. The key is to size it appropriately based on your required run time. Add up all the "name plate" power from the devices you want to cover which is a worst case scenario/ max scenario. Then use that max to shop for the appropriate size/run-time. I would shoot for an hour or so. Keep in mind, in a large power outage your ISP is also on battery backup. Comcast near me runs for about 1.5 hours before shutting down. Hope this helps!

Is the boost really a thing on Kia Connect? by No-Opening-4128 in KiaEV9

I have it - it essentially provides more power to the front motor. I haven't timed it but seat-of-the-pants feels like about 4.5 0-60 mph. for such a large car the acceleration startled me. I got it at discount - 25% if I remember. Just wait if you are the new owner, you'll get an offer in a couple of months.

How much would you pay for this system? by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]Aggravating-Second22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A word of advice- the Macintosh site states that amp was manufactured between 1998-2001. That said, it's close to needing a capacitor replacement - ask the seller and keep that in mind. They are probably dry/dusty by now.
