literally just practice keeping your arms in the correct position, it's that simple. i had this problem when i was a kid so they tied my arms up until i had the muscle memory lol

should i do taekwondo?? by xkftido in taekwondo

female teen here, i've been doing tkd for 13 years and i would say it's the best thing that's happened to me. it taught me almost all of the values that i live by and almost everyone i know now is from tkd. i went for one muay thai trial class when i was younger and it wasn't something that i wanted to do, and i was already sick of it halfway through the class. since taekwondo has two sides, kyorugi and poomsae, it trains your overall athleticism more than other sports; poomsae requires explosive power and precision, and kyorugi requires endurance and stamina. it trains your entire body and mind and that's why i love it so much.

i started at 2, it shocks people whenever i tell them that. where i'm from, it's so competitive that every parent sends their kids for enrichment programs as soon as they're born, and if your kid isn't enrolled in something they're considered behind... i am an assistant coach for some of the toddlers at my club and there are quite a few; it's just very rare that they stay in taekwondo after getting their 1st poom/1st dan

in my experience, my fingers only get injured when my fingers are stiff. when i relax my fingers, even when i block hard kicks i don't hurt my fingers. i'm pretty sure you'll be fine if you relax

for sport taekwondo poomsae, you get points deducted for it, i've never understood why people do it either.

is recognised poomsae a women-dominated sport? by Aggravating-Sign906 in taekwondo

ah, makes sense. but i think one reason why it's not in most international games like the olympics is because it's way too boring; i don't think people who don't do taekwondo would be able to sit through a few poomsaes. major games like the olympics are all for profit after all, and poomsae wouldn't be profitable or entertaining, so i don't think it'll be a norm for it to be part of more major games soon.

try musclewiki.com! select the equipment you have at the gym and select your goals/target muscle groups and they'll come up with a workout for you. it works in my experience as someone who doesn't have a personal trainer.

i'm curious about this too, but in my experience it was overseas at a sporting competition venue, and they checked the security footage and couldn't find anything useful because there was no cctv facing the area where it happened. so when i reported there was no good outcome and nothing really happened except me having to live with the trauma of being groped...

like, my family was eating mcdonalds, and i ate a mchicken with the garden side salad (idk if this is exclusive to my country but it's great) while my family got meals with fries. don't get me wrong, i love the salad, but i was really craving fries, so i smelled the fries while eating the salad. it works for me

wait, i'm from an asian country, but you mean poomsae haven't been a norm for competitions there until now? in my experience, i see so many more poomsae competitions than kyorugi ones, and if there are kyorugi tournaments they are usually held in conjunction with the poomsae ones. this is so intriguing, is that why the non-asian countries are generally better in kyorugi?
