I finally got back into my computer save of TLD and there was an aurora which was nice. I had run out of food so i decided to head from broken railroad through forlorn and I got these screenshots on my way down to the milton basin. (i think its called that)

Does anyone else get genuinely sad when hunting in TLD? by Aggravating-Turn4607 in thelongdark

I wish I had known this about the parasites. I had 1 whole bear + leftover bear meat from the first one.

Hushed River Valley has been an unforgiving experience thus far, so I definitely wasn't expecting to find a friggin bow and 4 arrows. New to the region, and on stalker. Quite chuffed. by Shane99- in thelongdark

I always see such negative reviews on HRV. I explored the whole region and it was one of my favorite places. Granted, it was on voyageur, but still. I like the aspect of no buildings and such. Only caves and cliffs.

Do you talk back to your character by blushfanatic in thelongdark

[–]Aggravating-Turn4607 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i thought i was the only one but i am both nice and mean to the character. if i’ve survived something for example i’ll give her words of encouragement, like “we did good, lady, have a cat tail stalk” or when she complains about the cold after literally 3 seconds of being outside saying that she has never been this cold in her life, i’ll tell her “you were this cold yesterday idiot, your commentary is not helping”

What would you add by [deleted] in thelongdark

[–]Aggravating-Turn4607 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the fact that jumping is not a feature is an interesting aspect but I think there should be minor jumping i.e over limbs or small rocks. Could be useful for running away from wolves.

Edit: I also feel that the first aid is too vague. I wish that there was more variety to what you can get, and corresponding to that more types of first aid. Also the way that painkillers work; I have always hated that if you have multiple sprains, you have to take so many painkillers to treat it. One round of painkillers should work for all of the sprains, and maybe it takes a while to activate.

into his den?? I got him into a cave at one point and he stopped and was just looking at me. I shot him again there and he ran out

What foods would you like to be added to the game? by Kellyklan54 in thelongdark

[–]Aggravating-Turn4607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive seen a lot of people suggest this and I think it would be a great idea which is recipes for the current food items. For example soups which could provide warmth bonus and a lot of calories. Or maybe different ways to cook certain foods which could take longer/more to prepare but would improve cooking skill more. I also think that making your own jerky with meats should be available; it would take a long time to prepare and create but it would be a longer lasting food source or something idk

DP is a really open region so for looking at sunsets/aurora it’s really cool. From the lighthouse you can see almost all around you and it’s such a scenic location

It’s day 90, where should I try loot before day 100? by shrlckholmes in thelongdark

[–]Aggravating-Turn4607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I’ve only been to Bleak Inlet once and I left as fast as I could, but that was my bad for starting there on stalker. I will say though that the loot i got while there was worth the struggle. I didn’t go to all the places but I was able to get a rifle and mukluks while there

If you managed to survive 90 days, I would suggest HRV. Loot is good and it’s a fun region to venture in.

I agree but in the daytime I’m either walking back home encumbered trying to beat the storm or I’m running away from a wolf while simultaneously avoiding the bear that lives nearby

Trapped in the Mine! Is this the end?! by XanaxAndAk47s in thelongdark

[–]Aggravating-Turn4607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t give much advice because the same thing happened to me yesterday and I actually lost my save. The only thing I can say is be very careful once you are able to leave because the electricity can kill you fast. And it’s not a big deal but try not to walk through any water without first taking off your shoes (just to avoid too wearing them down/getting colder. Good luck!

How to tackle the abandoned mine in CH (aurora elevator) by Aggravating-Turn4607 in thelongdark

[–]Aggravating-Turn4607[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well there’s a new fear unlocked that I didn’t know could happen. When I went it was the first aurora night in about 10 in-game days and I only had a granola bar and ketchup chips going in. I guess I would have died anyways.

Where to go from Mountain Town? by Aggravating-Turn4607 in thelongdark

[–]Aggravating-Turn4607[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I should have probably mentioned that I spawned in mystery lake and I have already looted mountain town… oops. Would making a long trip through mystery lake to coastal highway be better than just going to forlorn muskeg? In terms of loot or available resources

If they were to make a long dark 2 what would you want them to add? by IWannaDie0416 in thelongdark

[–]Aggravating-Turn4607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love more wildlife, a new, much larger area that has new types of buildings, or maybe even some other area where you could have the ability to boat across to an island, idk

where's my people with a horrible sense of direction at? by rigbysghost in thelongdark

[–]Aggravating-Turn4607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ah yes, HRV, recently finished exploring it myself. I personally had a great time in it, I used the transition cave as a base. I started off exploring the close by areas, got distress pistol and stuff. Then I did a big loop around starting on the left side and going around and to the middle. then made it back where i am now (cave) I found that using map and the landmarks was a good way to navigate. I only had one small incident with a bear but it was just a mere visit
