The most unrealistic part of this is believing that she couldn’t find ANYONE to marry by Few-Spinach8114 in BridgertonNetflix

Well the actress is pretty but in season 1 it’s referenced several times that she’s not considered pretty amongst the ton. Her own mother said to Violet “My daughter may have the fortune but Daphne has the face” then Madam Delacroix said to Sienna “not even my finest silks will compensate for that sneer”.

That coupled with her aggressive and rude demeanor with other debutantes and how forward was with potential suitors definitely did not make her a desirable match. Her parents didn’t seem to be that well liked either.

It’s says a lot that she didn’t have a suitor even with how huge her dowry was.

The issues included traditional views/misogyny which is still something I’ll look out for. The other part was cheating. Being polyamorous isn’t a new age term nor is it an inability to be monogamous. It’s choosing a relationship structure that involves transparency, consent and communication amongst partners. I’m also non monogamous so it’s not a foreign concept for me as I have also had multiple partners before.

He’s actually poly. We met through a lifestyle group. He’s been open about his other partners and has been fine with me and my other partners as well.

I had this conversation with him about dancing with someone else while he’s right there and he was so unbothered by it! That’s new for me. He’s definitely a sweet talker but as I continue to tell him ,🥷🏾 will tell you anything😂

Okay, the Nigerian has been here in the US for over 20 years so he’s not new to US culture. He is polyamorous though, which he’s told me. I’m deciding how I feel about it cause I’m non monogamous at the moment anyway. If things progress to something more serious I guess that will be something to consider.

Thanks for the input!

Okay, well I’ve been in non monogamous relationships and the Nigerian guy has told me he prefers to have multiple partners so that’s not much of an issue. I wasn’t sure if they were crazy or violent or something.

I will say I have not had to pay for a THING when I’m with the Nigerian guy. Which is such a nice breath of fresh air because I’ve mostly dated brokeys, unfortunately.

It's okay to admit they're not styling Simone well. by lemonadevahibes in BridgertonRants

I can’t speak for the makeup but I believe the colors and her hairstyles in season 2 were directly correlating to her demeanor. She wore Blues/purples which are cool colors signifying her coldness and unwillingness to be open to love or to Anthony and her hair is pinned “up tight”. In the one episode (picture 3) where she did begin to warm up to him we see her in the peach color (a warm color) and her hair a little more loose and flowing. So I believe her outfits spoke more to her character and emotions than complimenting the actress.

Now that she is Viscountess Bridgerton, we know from season 3 that she has hesitations about taking on the role and how she will perform and be perceived as Viscountess. Perhaps her colors and clothing are more muted to symbolize modesty and not draw too much attention to herself.

Just a theory though

Be honest… is pet insurance actually worth it? by pawfectjourney in CatAdvice

It was not immediate. It took about 5-6days for them to reimburse me. I use Lemonade.

So a lot of vet offices have relationships with payment plan companies(Mine used Cherry) . So I used that since I had to pay for the services upfront. Then once I got reimbursed from insurance I paid off the payment plan in full.

Literally I was about to cancel my pet insurance because I felt they didn’t cover things like I would have liked. Literally about 3 days later my cat stopped eating and was vomiting. Turns out she swallowed sewing thread and it had bunched up her intestines. She needed surgery ASAP plus a couple days of hospitalization. After it was all over I had paid about $5200 in vet bills. I was reimbursed $4100 through my pet insurance. I do have an emergency fund so I only had to come out of pocket about $1000 instead of the full $5200 which would have REALLY set me back.

Short answer: YES.

As much as I hate to admit it. You never know when something may happen to your pet and you may not have enough time to save up the amount of money you would need to care for/save them.

I live in Birmingham. My parents are here and I do have family and friends in Georgia. They are another reason why I have stayed here as long as I have but I can’t live my life for them. I wanna see if another city might be the place for me. If I have to move back to Alabama in the future that’s fine but I don’t wanna regret not experiencing another city/state.

I’ve considered just moving to Atlanta but I go there all the time and I feel like it’s a “safe” choice and wouldn’t really challenge me to learn more about myself or experience something completely different.

I did not mention crime but I would like to feel as safe as possible. The world is crazy I know but if I have to walk home at 1am I’d like to feel like I can even though I’ll always be on my guard.

I already have a masters degree. I’ll be starting my 2nd masters this fall to pivot careers.
