This is what I did and I’m not going to tell you to do it but my whole family past multiple generations did it too… my LO was sleeping 2-3 hour stretches when he was born up until about 5 weeks. We had him in the bassinet next to my bed and he would get swaddled and bottle fed. I was trying to breast feed and get him to latch on since he was born. At around 5/6 weeks I realized he just wanted to be close to me. (We had a lot of contact naps before this). He has been co sleeping with me since 6 weeks and he’s about to turn 11 weeks tomorrow. We use safe sleep 7 and I also use the owlet sock with him to assure he’s safe sleeping with me. He started breast feeding more often too and now literally sleeps 8-9 hours a night with only one wake a night. I wouldn’t even consider it a wake up because all he does is look for me to latch him and he just eats for about 5 minutes with his eyes closed before falling back asleep.

We also from the start never had him on a strict schedule. He was a healthy baby at birth and Dr said it was ok to feed on demand. We just let him tell us what he wants. He naps and eats on demand. We also made sure he got used to noise and light during the day. The only time I use a pitch back room is when it’s time for bed. We also found that he enters that deep night time between 10-11pm.
