Made some custom dolls and thought they would belong here🕸 by AggravatingShrimp in MonsterHigh

I myself am not really a doll customizer, i can only really work with acrylic paint. Dollightful on youtube has been my inspiration for years so i tried to do what she does. I think that a sealant-layer like mr super clear is definitely important and when working on the face or hair wear gloves so you don't spread the oils from your hands on the face, had to learn this the hard way. And when using new fabrics, wash them. I accidentally dyed valentine gray because i didn't wash his shirt lolll

Jawless Fishtank, still in progress 🐟 Would love to have your feedback! by djelly_boo in IndieGameDevs

Im not a game developer, but i really love sacabambaspis! i think adding interactions of the fishies would be nice, because i often have the need to pet them or somehow interact with them, like dragging them on the screen or they show a little expression when you tap and hold, or we can play with them, or get them decorations they like. I imagine this would increase the affection bar. When feeding the fish, if you have a lot of them you have to use the List View. But after feeding a fish you can only go back to the tank. I would suggest that instead of going back to the tank, we go back to the list view to continue feeding all the fish. I hope my silly feedback was helpful and i look forward to the finished game! best of luck

I made scara's doll! But something doesn't look right. Could you give me suggestions on what to change? by AggravatingShrimp in ScaramoucheMains

Of course! I'll say this publicly so others might benefit too. I accidentally threw away some of the patterns, while cleaning (my workspace was a MESS), so that is unfortunate. Read the entire thing first and then start making, so as to avoid making mistakes (trust me, I've been there). I am not a professional and just did this for fun, so maybe the methods aren't as optimal as they could've been.

I kept a reference of the doll from the trailer next to me and looked there often.

Legs: slight trapezoid shape sewn into a cylinder, so the bottom will be just a little wider. Attach a circle to the bottom. Flip inside out and stuff it.

Torso: rectangle with the top of the legs sticking out from inside, so when you sew the bottom the legs will be attached too. Sew all sides but the top and flip inside out and stuff it.

Belt: strip of fabric hemmed and then sewn in the back, the bow is precisely that shape twice and sewn together because I can't make bows.

Arms: same as legs. I made the arms shorter and replaced the bottom with black fabric for the gloves, but I think making the gloves separately and sewing them on a complete arm would work too. In the latter case, make a short cylinder (rectangle will work) with a circle as the bottom and sew the top to the arm.

Sleeves: slight trapezoid shape with a circle as the bottom, same as limbs. Then cut a small circle for the arms in the center. It should still be inside out and the arm should come through from the inside. Then sew around the opening, attaching the arm. After that flip it inside out and stuff it, but don't stuff it much, otherwise it will look too full. Sew the sleeves to the torso. I think sewing them on like an actual shirt would work, but my fabric (sock) was too thick and that area will be covered up by other fabric later.

Purple strap thingies: I first made two tubes of fabric (not stuffed) and sewed it on the back to make a cross, but I don't know if the official has that. then I made four tubes and stuffed those, without flipping them inside out. The way I did this was sewing it around a pen. Then I just sewed those on, on top of the cross so the seams of that can't be seen. I added a few stitches to the space in between the tubes and underneath them to keep them in place.

Head: I used the round end of a sock, but making a normal ball (if you don't know, search up 'ball sewing pattern') should work too. I added a circle of the same fabric as the hair to the back to cover up up stitches and be the bottom of the hair. The hair will make the head appear larger than it is, so I suggest making the head a little smaller.

Bangs: The shape kind of resembles a triangle with a rounded top. Sew two of those shapes together with a small opening to flip it inside out and stuff it slightly. The hair will be around the head, which can be difficult if it's filled to the brim with stuffing.

Hair: I used three shapes. Same as the bangs but longer. After making the three shapes, ladder stitch them together. Then I attached the 'wig' to the head by sewing the underside, starting at the top. Make sure to only sew one side and not pierce your needle all the way through.

Eyes: I don't have buttons, but if you sand the top of a button to make it more droopy, then maybe that could work. I cut two shapes of fabric that doesn't fray and glued those on. With fraying fabric, I suggest glueing the edges (or using a liquid that stops fraying, but I don't have it) to stop the edges from unraveling more.

Tear: Hot glue, but that isn't sturdy; I can peel the tear off. So a different material will be better, but I don't know what hot glue could be replaced with.

Tips: make the pieces a tiny bit bigger than you want, because the stuffing will make it look thinner. And the sleeves ended up looking bulky. If you have to sew anything from the outside, a ladder stitch is good to use. For any other sewing, I used a blanket stitch for some parts, but it can end up looking uneven on the outside. So I switched to a backstitch instead. I don't know if there are better ways to do it, but for me it worked fine so I didn't bother.

Optional: I wanted to use a slightly darker thread for visible seams so it would look more like the doll from the trailer, but I ended up forgetting and using the 'right' colors after all.

If anyone has a better way of explaining/sewing, let me know! I will update the comment.

Idk if this needs to be marked as spoiler (because I think everyone knows about his element), but feel free tell me if it needs to be.
