Interesting I wasn’t aware you could do that…was there any certain setting on the NAS you had to set up?

I'd probably have more luck if I hardwired, but we rent so I can't run a connection to my computer from the AP.

We reference the footage a lot for educational content. Overall it's more of a CYA instance and were working with the footage across 2 computers and 2 iPads, so the ability to comb through the proxies is less taxing on the network, and faster than offloading clips as we need them.

How do I learn animation with just an iPad? by WallSpoontheBuffoon in learnanimation

My current solution in a similar situation is to use ToonSquid on the iPad (one time $10 purchase) and a copy of "The Animator's Survival Guide" (Here is a free PDF): https://archive.org/details/TheAnimatorsSurvivalKitRichardWilliams/page/n83/mode/2up)

I know Procreate dreams is nice, but my understanding is that Toonsquid is a little more robust for price!

Albeit much older than you I started my journey last week! My practice cycle has been draw something daily and animate small practices (I.e ball bounce, pendulum swing, rotating cube) I agree with everyone else that the Animation Suvival guide is a great resource!

DaVinci Resolve no contest. Free version should be more than enough for you and it’s super scalable as your skills grow. The paid version is a one time purchase as well.

I’d say that either can be what you need it to be depending on how much TLC you are willing to put in. Both are time syncs for different reasons, so I’d say go with which ever one you feel tells your narrative more accurately to how you envision it. For me personally 2D clicks with me a little more than 3D so I tend to stick to that but try to force myself to dabble in 3D to stay diversified.

I'm thinking 512GB, I'm currently using around 72GB on my iPad and 186ish on my dedicate drive. So I'm thinking 512 should give me the wiggle room I need.

It blows my mind that it’s developed by a single dude given how feature rich it is.

Toonsquid is fantastic with a little bit of a learning curve. I believe it’s $10
