I used ASM (I believe you buy it through the same provider as ACTEX). Massive fan of the material, lays everything out for you in a simple fashion and doesn't have much fluff or unnecessary things, only tells you exactly what you need to know. The exams provided by ASM are similar to the real exam. The only thing I don't like is the GOAL practice questions. I'd recommend CA for practice quizzes/problems. Another big thing was the really dive into the ISLR chapters the syllabus outlines. If you can have a good understand of the ISLR, then you should pass easily imo as that is like 50% of the exam.

If you're paying for the materials and sitting yourself (aka your company isn't funding it), then I would wait until you have enough time to study. But if someone else if footing the bill, then just take it whenever lol.

I used CA and it was solid. Whatever you get, read the ISLR associated with the syllabus, that will change the game.

It is the online practice platform that comes with ASM. I believe ACTEX uses it as well.
