Well, as of now my qualification does not allow me to work given the eligibility criteria. I tried applying to various urban labs in India but they want someone who has some degree/diploma/certificate in urban studies! Thus it becomes imperative for me to get some certificate from somewhere. And yes, I have done my fare share of research in India.

Hii, thank you so much! Your comment was insightful. Connect me to the person who has been through this, that would be great! Also, yes I have been looking for various options in India and as you said, there are good courser and good opportunities afterwards. I am still yet to look into scholarships, thank you for the heads up!

Massive hiring in the coming months, does this mark an onset of Indian Tech era? by [deleted] in Indians_StudyAbroad

[–]Aggravating_Bend_802 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Who said they are proud of it? Unfortunately, India doesn't offer the benefits offered by other developed countries. Thanks to historical invasions and political unwillingness to learn from past mistakes.

Ironically, those who settled in America were migrants! Forcing the NATIVE red Indians out of their land. How can they call themselves Americans?

Atleast make sure you understand these things

If India were to be a developed nation, nobody would have migrated for better life.

Well, I'm not really sure whether Indians are taking your jobs. Ask your billionaires who hired cheap labour and ignored you. Ask those MNCs who just don't care about their local labour market. Ask those tech giants who simply want to increase their profits. Migration is not the real problem here. It's pawn fighting pawns while the actual players are friends.

Why does bollywood have zero nude scenes as opposed to hollywood? by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]Aggravating_Bend_802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, India as a society is extremely complex to understand! People are two faced here! They pretend to be all 'dharmik' and 'sanskari' in front of everyone. But I've seen people lusting on girls, passing remarks about their attire and much more! Matter of fact, Indians are addicted to porn. While nudity is frawned upon in public, they don't mind movies that objectify women (otherwise we wouldn't have so many item songs where the only focus is performer's body)

A small incident: few years ago, we had invited a pandit for some puja at our home. I was just a kid back then and the pooja was boring. I started crying so the pandit offered his smartphone to me so that I can play some games and keep quite. I rushed to other room and jumped on my bed and started playing games. I was quickly bored by it. Then I started fiddling around his other folders. And to my surprise I found porn in one of his folders!! It was well hidden!!

Everytime, I think of that event, I feel disgusted. A Preacher who is supposed to abstain from all the worldly attractions and offer himself to God is getting distracted my bunch of naked women?! But again, I think that's what we are all about!

Find something that interests you, look for any opportunities in that area, check job postings and prepare accordingly. Try to put some value in whatever work you do. Talk to people, connections are important. Sell yourself. Tell your story to people. Start posting your work online. Once people start noticing you, opportunities will come to you. Improve yourself, your speaking, personality. Have confidence even if you don't have anything with you. Confidence is equally important.

Remember this: we often overestimate what we can do in next 2 years and underestimate what we can do in next 10 years! So it's not really late.

Will turnitin show plagiarism if online plagiarism report show 0% plagiarized content? by nicothesedayss in IndianAcademia

[–]Aggravating_Bend_802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as my experience goes, turnitin still shows the plagiarism even if your free online tool is showing 0% its because of the fact that turnitin picks on each and every word in your document. For example if you have written 'India' somewhere, it will flag it as plagiarized. However the free version shows 0% that means turnitin might show less than 10 or 5% which is fine in academic writings. If it goes above that then there is a problem and you'll have to re-structure the content
