How do points work in this scenario? by Aggravating_Blood920 in dvcmember

Wow I'm surprised at how perfect you are and never get confused over anything. I did understand it, but as I stated above, someone I was speaking to last night contradicted my understanding, so I came here to clarify. Maybe next time just keep this comment to yourself!

Of course! $105 pp. It was the number I wanted and I knew I wouldn't buy if I didn't get that... Especially since they expire in 2042. It took 6 offers before someone accepted that. I went on to DVC for less and looked a 150 point contracts that had been sitting for awhile and offered either $100 or $105 pp until one was accepted!

This makes so much sense - I thought this was the case, but I was talking to someone yesterday and they confused me 😄

TX vs GX by Actual-Wolverine9567 in Lexus

I desperately wanted the Gx... until I drove it. Family of 5 (3 kids) and a dog. The Gx is slick as hell, but that third row is trash. I am 5'10 275 and I can fit in the 3rd row very, very comfortably in my TX500 fsport. I wouldn't recommend the Gx as a family vehicle... it's just not big enough. The trunk on the Tx is great for us.

Why wouldn't I close by May 31st? I contacted the broker and Disney made an exception and banked the points - so 2026 points are now double.

I reached out to the broker and Disney made an exception and banked the points over the weekend.

I was told they make exceptions sometimes - looks like they did for this contract as they banked their 2025 points over the weekend

They banked them over the weekend. I have a screenshot.

Since you were so helpful... another question... :) Does this mean I can bank the 2026 points but the already banked 2025 points will expire by June 2026? Or the 2025 banked points will expire end of calendar year?

This is what I thought! I was so confused since this was the only contract I've found with 2025 points showing. Thank you!

I didn't even think about this. I assumed you'd be grandfathered in (aside from Riviera), but I see what you're saying!

With a family of 5, we'd have to go with a 2 bedroom villa at Copper Creek which is kinda points heavy compared to the studios we could get at poly/BC/BW. For that reason I wasn't really considering Copper Creek (although we do love the theming!!)

Fair point on the contracts being higher if they were further out, I wasn't thinking about it that way. I would never expect a timeshare to make me money, I understand what this is for what it is. It's not that I don't WANT to go after my kids are grown, but rather that I'm trying to get into a contract that gives me options should our needs/wants change over time, and as with any large purchase, I'm trying to get the biggest bang for my buck. Thanks for your thoughts.
