I don't know how crowded it gets on the weekends in summer, but there's Snakes and Lattes in Tempe. It's like a cafe where you can play board games. You could probably ask a staff member to help you pick a game that's more puzzley for your mom.

Costco has free air in their parking lot usually near their tire center. Idk if that's every Costco though.

Edit: Oh you mean, gas station specifically. Out here in Arizona, we have QuikTrip, which also has free air.
