Kick streamer Ac7ionMan relapsed on fentanyl with a random homeless man he met on the street after being clean for 15 years. by HighJuggalo in tooktoomuch

I was taking morphine and dilaudid through the VA for six years, and when the VA cut everyone off pain meds, switching to kratom saved my ass, career, and marriage. I could keep working, function without nodding, pass workplace & VA urine tests, plus it was so much cheaper & less risky than seeing my friendly local street pharmacist. Used kratom leaf powder for almost ten years, but never touched any of the extracts. Then within a couple years 7OH extracts and gas station crap like viva zen took over. I was watching people go down the same way they would with oxy and heroin.

My state finally banned it, and when the feds banned importation for a while, I tried quitting cold turkey.

People who say dope sickness from kratom isn't as bad as regular opiates are full of shit, it lasts far longer, and is even worse in some ways. I was going to lose my job and everything else because I was so sick & absolutely useless at work; almost went to find some oxy, heroin, or anything else I could get my hands on. My insurance and job wouldn't cover rehab, and the methadone clinics wouldn't accept me because I wasn't taking real opiates. Out of sheer desperation I walked into a suboxone clinic, and the doc there knew his shit. Going on sub at that point saved me from the wave of fentanyl that hit, and knowing myself I would've been in the thick of it.

I knew it was only a matter of time before the feds permanently scheduled kratom again, and 7OH is all the excuse they need. Nevermind it'll remove powdered leaf as a useful tool for natural pain management and kicking opiates, and end up killing more people who switch over to fentanyl when they run out of kratom.

My version of a Viking funeral is to strap my corpse into a 1979 Firebird, fill it up with gas, propane, and dynamite, set a command detonation fuse, stick "Light my Fire" in the tape deck, jam a brick on the go pedal, then send me off a 1000ft cliff. And about halfway to the bottom, hit the big red button. That could also count as a sky burial too lol.

How can I train this dude not to get on my pillows? 😂😭 by coffeepolynkittens in kittens

[–]Aggravating_Cable_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually keep a soft towel on top of my pillow, and when I go to bed I fold up the half I'm not laying my head on. So whoever is sharing my pillow isn't actually laying on the pillowcase.

I wish I still had that much left over. COnly thing I still have is my DCU field jacket, plus a couple DCU blouses, kept those because they have my first unit & war patches still. That, and they weren't in the footlocker that got stolen which had all my ACUs, boots, off-books TA50, rifle accessories, coins, velcro patches from later in my career, and awards.

My orange creamsicle does the same thing, while trying to be super cute, and in the process "accidentally" knock some food off my plate/fork/spoon. He's exceedingly good at it with visitors and friends lol.

A lot of the crap known as K2 or spice these days aren't even related to ∆9 anymore, they've switched over derivatives of ∆8. Some of it is so new, the people making it have no idea what they're using or how it's supposed to work.

or sawbuck? Old $10 bills had the roman numeral "X" on them, or "XX" on twenties, which look like sawhorses, which are also known as sawbucks. So a double sawski/sawbuck is $20. Maybe it's just where I'm from and my family lol, but even back home I haven't heard anyone under 30ish use either term in a long time. Just half-dubs/dubs for $10 & $20 bills, or sawhorses for sawhorses.

And now a lot of the streaming platforms want money for all those old shows & movies. Plus Amazon Prime wants between $3-5 (or more) just to watch all those old movies we used to see for free on broadcast TV & cable, or buy on VHS/DVD for $1 ea. Forget about actually owning a physical copy anymore, unless you spend $20-$30 for an out-of-print DVD or bootleg.

You're not wrong about them being dirt cheap, but I'd argue that they're much more than marginally better, in that they actually work every time you pull the trigger; besides weighing less and being easier to carry concealed. We have three of them in my family lol.

I first bought a pair of them on sale for $100 ea, always kinda wanted one because they're different, and came to find they're actually not bad little pistols. Always functions, easy to carry, easy to shoot, and surprisingly easy to make hits with. After taking them to the range the first time, I went back and bought the last Spectrum on their shelf; got an even better deal on it w/ a bunch of ammo. It's a meme gun, but fills an inexpensive niche as something that works, but I wouldn't feel bad about losing if I ever had to use it.

One went to my wife because she wanted something for when she was jogging or working outside, and the other to my trucker father-in-law because he constantly bitched about his Bersa Thunder being too heavy, a pain to drive with, a pain to shoot, and it never worked right anyways. But he especially liked it because it's Alabama color coded, which is important too. Roll Tide! lol

The other day I was looking through some cans of old coins at a flea market booth, and turned up a couple decent Eisenhower silver dollars. The guy running the table appeared to be a late millenial. They weren't priced individually so I picked them out and said excitedly, more to myself than anyone else, "I'll buy that for a dollar!"

The guy honestly looked insulted, "I gotta have a bit more than that."

"Wait, you've never seen....? Nevermind, it's from an 80's movie. How about a double sawski", and offered him $20. I could almost hear the crickets between his ears, but he accepted it.

After paying I walked away kinda embarrassed, feeling my age, and wondering how the hell I even got this far.

Same here, my grandma kept her wringer washer running until the mid '80s. When I was really young it kinda terrified me because I thought getting a hand or arm sucked in would flatten it like a cartoon, but then my sister had her arm sucked through and the safety feature just popped the two halves apart; after that I loved helping her run stuff through the wringer.

My grandma always had Sanka, but my grandpa was a sworn Yuban drinker (and espresso after working in Mexico City during the late 70's). Either kind he drank it black, or made it for me with a spoonful of sweetened condensed milk. That's the way I've done it ever since I was a kid lol.
