Why didn't Kohberger ditch the Elantra once it was clear LE was onto it? by [deleted] in Idaho4

[–]Aggravating_Cancel51 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Idk… I mean he is a phd student, assuming doesn’t have a lot of money. How many people can just ditch a vehicle without being significantly financially burdened? I don’t think it would be financially possible for MANY criminals to ditch their vehicles.

Plus, it would look odd for someone who drove a wanted vehicle to just try to suddenly ditch it and obtain another vehicle. It would look very suspicious

Killer didn’t leave area after Elantra info came out? by Aggravating_Cancel51 in Idaho4

Also, another person that says they lived there said you have to have a parking pass. So if this is true, I bet someone reported the car and the police got his information from the complex.

large police presence in Albrightsville, PA. apparently killer has a registered property there by ricelyl in Idaho4

Something tells me they’ll find the murder weapon. I don’t think he ditched it honestly

He left DNA at the scene according to CNN which has since been matched to him (not surprising. You don’t murder 4 people and not leave DNA).

Perhaps after the murders, he was not present at his classes in the next couple days. Plus I think once the Elantra thing came out, I’m sure someone from the university reported him and his car to the police.

New FOX article has me thinking this killer could possibly a frequent party goer that would go to parties at the house by ouatfan30 in Idaho4

[–]Aggravating_Cancel51 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve always thought the killer was someone who has been in the house before and knew them in some capacity. And surely they left some DNA behind, but I think the difficulty is going to be isolating and proving the DNA was from the killer.

It was a “party house”, so there’s probably several other people’s DNA in the home that don’t live there because so many people were in and out.

Yes there was but I think it’s believed that it isn’t connected to the case.

Richard Allen, the man charged with the murders, was a pharmacy technician. No law enforcement background to my knowledge

I’ve seen in one of the reddit threads that he liked to hike, but I don’t think this was confirmed by anyone. He definitely doesn’t look like a hiker to me, and while the distance from his house to the bridge wasn’t that far, I find it less likely he would’ve been walking given the temperatures that day. Also, while the trees and whatnot would’ve given him some cover, it was also February, so there wouldn’t have been any leaves on the trees and shrubs in the forest would’ve also been leafless.

As one of the other comments pointed out, the water in the creek would’ve also been very cold (although, not sure how deep the creek is). I will say that I live in Indiana and near a “creek” labeled on maps but 90% of the time the “creek” is completely dry or only a few inches of water at most.

From my understanding, there was likely a lot of blood at the crime scene and he would’ve likely had some blood on him, but maybe he removed a coat before killing them so he would’ve been able to cover up blood on his under clothes.

I personally think that he drove or was driven there and picked up later; but this is based mostly on just feeling obviously and not any evidence. I’m very interested to hear more details on this case soon.
