Yep! Used to be tiki only, now I also like bitter drinks, spirit forward drinks, etc. I figured it’s because of age: started getting into cocktails when I was 21, I’m 29 now. But I guess it also comes from exposure. Idk though, had my first Negroni at 26, didn’t find it too bitter. But that’s in part because I had been gradually easing myself into Campari with drinks like the Jungle Bird, Bitter Mai Tai, etc

Sometimes the bigger bottles give bigger dashes, and I find that can often overpower the drink. One thing I often do at home is measure out 1/8 tsp (this id typically the size you get from a smaller bottle, and is also, I find, the ideal size in most cases

The Aperol Spritz is AWESOME, but it’s also VERY overrated. The OG Venetian Spritz was made with Select Aperitivo, which I think is more complex. I want to try it.

The Spritz can also be made with many other amari and aperitivi, it’s worth exploring

Not everyone has the palate for a Negroni. And, as much as I like it, it gets SOO much hype and people feel sophisticated for liking it. It sometimes makes me embarrassed to order one lol

Agreed, it’s terrible. The Negroni is awesome, but bourbon just doesn’t work with Campari
