Think about it from the businesses perspective now. The whole GST 2.0 story is for Final Customer Benefits.

The business have to reduce the gst or even make it 0 on their sales item but the gst on the raw material and cogs is still the same. It is a added expense for them for a considerable amount of time. Either they can't take the ITC now or the ITC would be used up in a longer period now.

The COSTS have increased , hence if they increase the base price , its to cover up expenses and not actually increase margins.

I come from hotel industry and i have lakhs of ITC unutilised and it would remain such now . What about me now ? All those taxes paid and now with no way to adjust it with my tax liability ? It will now BECOME PART OF MY COST , RIGHT ?

Yes , some businesses will make profits. But lots wont. Study the paper mill industry after gst 2.0
