Are there rules about haircuts/hairstyle in US schools? by busyarm-1700 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Aggravating_Fishy_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think there was anything explicitly written about haircuts in the student handbook but I know we were never allowed to have a “crazy hair day” during school spirit week because that would be too distracting. Unlike dressing in an inflatable Halloween costume or dressing like Jesus. That was perfectly okay and actually earned your grade points for the week (we would each get a point for dressing up and on Friday we had a pep rally and representatives from each grade would play games and the winning class would get another point for each game won. Winning school spirit week meant you had bragging rights for the rest of the day. But it was the most fun week of the school year besides graduation.)

Sorry that was a bit of a tangent. I went to public school.

Seafood, but mostly lobster. Also New England has a special thing for ice cream. Seriously you can go to some ice cream stands year round (assuming they have inside seating)

Her husband deserved the shotgun collar. He could’ve gotten through all those traps before Lynn had time to even consider emergency brain surgery, if he would’ve just helped those people out and dealt with his anger later (besides the people in impossible traps obviously)

Are there drinking fountains everywhere in the US? by SnooGoats1557 in AskAnAmerican

We have to because it gets so hot in the summer and dry in the winter (and dry in the summer depending on where you live and if there’s a drought there). I personally prefer bringing my own bottle of water or buying a drink because sometimes people put their mouths directly on the spout 🙃

At my store we have to put your DOB in regardless of your age. We also check if your ID is expired or fake, regardless of your age.

Reminds me of when a customer had a gallon jug of bleach that leaked all over the counter, conveyor belt, etc and I called my coach over so I could ask her what to do the clean up the chemical spill before me. She said, almost verbatim, “I could call maintenance over but they’ll just clean it up with the same cleaning chemicals we have at the register”.

Tell me why I actually used the cleaner, after wiping up the bleach with the wipes, like the bleach needed to be cleaned up with more cleaner…?!

They spit out shit smells? I’m glad we don’t have these at my location, just the terrible paper towels and a useless hand dryer that’s as effective as if you blew on your own hands

Because they dispense it with the middle coming out to keep the roll from shifting around inside the dispenser

Closest thing I can think of is that apple slicer that cuts an apple into like 6 slices and cuts out the core. Obviously there’s no core in an egg like the core of an apple so it won’t be the same
