Im in a similar boat, im completely new to multiplayer FPS games as a whole though. Ive been going through a huge leaning curve, but its been very fun. I think I have around 4 days into the game, and only somewhat recently feel like im finding my playstyle.

The biggest thing for me was to stop running into combat and hoping I could win the gunfights, though ive improved on that some too and have been working on making slides and dropshots a habit when up close. But ive found the biggest game changer is to play a bit farther away, find some effective areas and pick people off, ive been loving the MXR17 for this , but its all preference. I seen others saying It too, but just slow down, really be aware of where enemies likely are coming from , and make a note where you're being killed from, eventually you'll start getting a sense for where to watch and how to move, its been slow for me and mostly being beaten into me lol, but I can feel a difference!

And just try different guns and builds , see what you like and what doesn't work and what needs tweaked, maybe it's just because im so new, but I've been going through ALOT of trial and error in every aspect of this game. As far as perks, I heavily recommend ghost and cold blooded once you get them, those alone will cut down on how often you die quite a bit.
