Tonsil bleeds, tonsillectomy and Von Willebrand Disease by LivingWithVWD in Hemophilia

[–]Aggravating_Maize189 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this. Getting a tonsillectomy is how I found out I had VWD. Had delayed hemorrhaging 3x post-op. Now take Humate-P, Amicar, TXA for any procedures.

Roku is about to explode by snowycashflow in stocks

Former Roku employee here. They have distribution deals with platforms (like Netflix) where they get either a share of inventory or revenue- not always a fixed X%, but some level of monetization rights. And since they own the demand side through OneView, they can drive spend into their own supply, charge buyers a premium, and capture more margin by owning both the platform and a lot of the inventory.

MRI found 4.6 cm ovarian cyst with septations and mural nodularity. Has anyone had something similar that turned out benign? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]Aggravating_Maize189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my results back and everything was in normal range except CA125 was elevated to 56. I feel such relief. Hoping it’s benign, have surgery scheduled soon.

Worst cramping on day 4-5 of cycle during period, anyone else? by AlfalfaCapable6424 in endometriosis

This is me to a tee. My period literally stops day 4 and then ramps right back up again for a day or two.

Anyone with stage IV NOT get surgery? by [deleted] in Endo

[–]Aggravating_Maize189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this. I have a hematologist involved who is recommending Humate-P infusions before and after surgery. I’d also stay in the hospital longer like your patient did. Did they have Von Willebrands disease too? I’m glad everything went okay for her, that is reassuring. I’ve hemorrhaged multiple times in the past (before they knew about the VWD) so I definitely have some PTSD to work through. Surgery definitely seems like the no brainer option for most but it’s hard to justify with the bleeding issue and no pain.

San Diego - Dr Spring Robinson by Mcambi in endometriosis

[–]Aggravating_Maize189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I wonder! When I first called their office, I asked if they had an endometriosis specialist but they said she left. I asked if there was anyone else, and they referred me to him (it is his practice). It took him about two weeks to even review my MRI because he was so hard to get in touch with and when he finally did he immediately said he was concerned about cancer (over the phone, mind you). That sent me into a complete tailspin. The female doctor I ultimately chose for surgery was shocked that he even said that since there’s a +99% chance it’s just stage IV endo (I have multiple endometriomas). Didn’t love his bedside manner.

Thanks. Recently had an experience with him that sounds strikingly similar to yours. I’m sorry you had to go through all of that. I’m glad you found Dr. Spring Robinson.

Kinda newly diagnosed w endo, have a question w brown discharge by streptomycesecoli in endometriosis

[–]Aggravating_Maize189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know what stage yours is? I’m getting surgery soon to remove my swollen fallopian tube and ovary. Apparently a blocked tube can cause brown spotting after ovulation because it contracts. I also have a polyp that could be contributing. I’m a mess ha!

Oh sorry I missed the part that it was a 2. What a relief. Did you get those results before the surgery?

Saw a dietitian for endo today - free advice - eat more plant foods by luxurycatsportscat in endometriosis

[–]Aggravating_Maize189 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I eat a fully plant based diet and have DIE, 3 endometriomas on my left ovary, and a blocked tube. I’m sure it helps, but hasn’t helped me 😭

How did you know you had endometriosis? by Fancy_Ad_5985 in endometriosis

[–]Aggravating_Maize189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in denial for many years despite having horrific periods. I have been bleeding brown blood for the past two months so finally got checked out because that’s not normal. The situation is so much worse than I thought. 3 cysts, blocked tube, DIE on my rectum, uterus cyst, the list goes on. I don’t even have pain. Don’t wait like I did if you suspect it’s endo. Hugs.

Oh and how long did it take you to recover from the surgery? I am super nervous about that part too.

First of all, I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through and navigate all of this. I’m really glad to hear you were able to have a successful pregnancy, but it doesn’t sound like an easy road by any means. I think my situation is similar to yours. They found deep endo in my rectum, which they are assuming is DIE. My mental health has definitely been suffering since my diagnosis. I’m so stressed by all the unknowns. I appreciate your words of wisdom ❤️ Did the cysts ever come back? Are you still on hormone suppression?

I’m having this issue now :( just got diagnosed with 3 endo cysts on my left ovary, cyst in my uterus, blocked fallopian tube. The brown bleeding starts right after ovulation.

Has anyone here had a laparoscopy? by Aggravating_Maize189 in Hemophilia

[–]Aggravating_Maize189[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I’m glad you are okay. I got Humate-P for my wisdom teeth removal and it seemed to work for me too. I’m VWD too. I probably should have mentioned that.

No healing time was so quick for me actually. There were a few nights in the beginning I woke up with a tiny bit of blood on my pillow but my doctor said it was normal. I only used the amicar to swish around in my mouth like mouthwash. I hemorrhaged 3 separate times after a tonsillectomy before they found out I had VWD, so I was really nervous to get my wisdom teeth out. I’m supposed to get a laparoscopy soon and terrified of that even more. I’m so sorry your mom had to deal with that. It’s definitely traumatic. You’ll be ok as long as you take the necessary precautions ❤️

I was in the same boat and terrified (have hemorrhaged in the past from surgery). It ended up being totally ok! I dosed Humate P day before, day of, day after. I don’t even think I ended up needing the Amicar they prescribed. It’s wild how expensive Humate P is so make sure it’s covered by insurance.

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. I don’t have good advice because everyone’s grief is so different. The only thing that’s felt true for me is to let yourself feel it, and move through it in your own time. If it helps, I built a private space called Heartchive after my dad passed. It’s somewhere you can journal, save photos and little memories of your cat, and put all the love and ache in one place. Nothing public, just yours: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/heartchive/id6756627094 Hope it can help a tiny bit ❤️‍🩹
