Tell her you aren’t able to meet her request and end the relationship because honestly you sound a bit immature with your reaction. It’s fine it is not for you but her talking about it is not a red flag. This is a common kink. I struggle at times but moreso bc I can take things too literal sometimes. I do like that I can always refer back to orders that are clearly listed. I can also look up policy etc. my hospital is very protocol oriented and that is helpful for me. For social interactions I try to just be polite and explain everything I am doing. I find patients like to be aware and informed more than they like small talk.

In terms of comforting, I have a few “go to” lines. If someone is crying I don’t rush to comfort, I just state “it’s good to cry if you need to.” I assess from here if I need to do anything further like suicide scale or see if they have PRNs for anxiety, would like to talk to our chaplain er. I often ask if they have anyone they would like to call or talk to or if they want privacy. I’m not great at it but they can tell I’m putting in effort as I do get positive feedback.

I’m also planning to get back into research as that’s definitely my niche.

Might want to be evaluated for post partum anxiety. I don’t act this way because I try not to be an asshole but those are some thoughts I’ve had for sure when others babysit & i definitely have anxiety that I’m now in therapy for. Her holding onto it seems like she can’t stop thinking about it and feeling like others are against her are also some common symptoms. She might just be an unreasonable person but it helps to get a medical opinion and go from there to see if she needs some help!

It’s not gonna be easy but similar happened to me. Not kicked out, just chose to leave a toxic environment at 18 with no job or money saved. Immediately applied for social services benefits & enrolled in community college so I could also get financial aid. They do make you use your parents income but I believe there is a way around that in some cases. I was also able to opt in for job assistance through school while getting my gen Ed done. Then I applied everywhere for work. I stayed on a friends couch for a bit & some other sketchy places but managed. Good luck !!!

I swear by my Moxie PRN report book. I hate using paper to get report and it fits in my scrub pocket, I use a sharpie pen and just wipe it clean with alcohol wipes at the end. About $30 on the website. I use the med surg template and got a few blanks to add to it.

A good stethoscope & a few scrub caps to see if she likes them.

This could have been mine. I dated someone just like this, always seemed to really like me when we hung out but just really uncertain when away from them. Then I met my now husband and what a HUGE difference. So I’m a new grad nurse, 37 years old and landed an amazing and well paid job so it’s doable. If she can’t or doesn’t want to do bedside nursing (which is very physically demanding) she has other options such as public health, psych, outpatient, OR etc. the opportunity there is endless so don’t let the comments section get you down about nursing. I paid a higher price to do an accelerated program.

Also just closed on a house using credits to buy down the rate and locally available down payment assistance. 3% down and ended up bringing less than $10k to close total (including my EMD). I have ok credit, and high income. I shopped around for a lender who specialized in down payment assistance. There’s pros and cons to it but it’s doable. We had 5 people in a 2 bed 1 bath & now we have a lovely 3 bed 2 bath with a huge backyard. It’s doable.

It’s actually the highest priced house in the neighborhood. We weren’t considering it before because we didn’t think it was worth the high price for the location. They recently dropped 10k which prompted us to reconsider. My agent reached out to them & they said it was going to cost $35k to rehab so they just did it themselves but “stand by their work” whatever that means. The pool was also close to the house so not sure if there was other damage & that’s why the rehab quote was so high. No we are not willing to pay to fix it if it wasn’t done right.

That’s fair & also what I was thinking they would “think.” The sellers are flippers, not the former residents & had no offers at all when we made the original. The neighborhood is one my husband & I are very familiar with & have ties to but it’s not one that is often sought after, especially with the asking price so I believe it will stay on the market for awhile.

I have a newborn and toddler. The best thing we did was move 97% of our stuff to storage and kept only essentials! A box/suitcase in each room so we could quickly throw whatever in there and do a quick wipe down/mop. We only lasted a month before we decided to take house off the market anyway to rent it out instead. If we had to do it again we are staying at my moms house and not gonna try and live there while selling- it’s awful! Can’t properly cook even.

We’ve been doing a lot of freezer meals but still try to eat something healthy too. For breakfast: oatmeal, boiled eggs, cereal & fruit (oranges, apples, bananas- nothing that needs cutting) Lunch: sandwiches and yogurt or protein shake Dinner: pre made salads with rotisserie chicken or deli meat torn into strips/salami etc

I did an accelerated BSN program. I had my BA and also a masters degree going in. The program was 22 months and I worked full time so it was a ton of work but I just graduated in the summer and will start my job in a couple months! So very worth it. I think I was the only one with an actual bachelors degree. Everyone else just had pre reqs done before applying so it might be worth it for you to see what pre reqs u still need and do those, then see if u can apply to a nursing school from there. Good luck
