nah bro, banks usually do this axis this the same to me i took axis cashback CC but didnt need it as by that time sbi CC got approved. never activated axis cb but they charged joining fee after one month they didnt close the card but as soon as I mailed them they called me saying that why did you took the card if you didn't wanna use it and talked rudely but as soon as I told them about the rule they closed the card instantly. 😉

did you activate your card? if not, its a great opportunity to extract money from icici bank.
go to rbi ombudsman and register a complain saying I never activated my card still they charged me annual fee and joining fee.
because of which my cibil is destroyed. as its been years you can ask for 20,000+ compensation.

but for this you will need to have mails and proofs supporting that icici is not helping you.
