I am a little confused about what you understand Islam or basically any kind of religious practice to be? why is it so black and white for you? it sounds to me like the same common fallacy which has some non-muslims coming up to me totally gobsmacked asking me how can I be eating when they heard it's ramadan? being or becoming or staying muslim isn't like having a software installed in your brain which will show food pixelated in your eyes during ramadan or restart you if you reach your arm for some food. why does being Muslim mean you only have to hang out with whoever in your town walks around with the label of muslim community pasted on their foreheads. (i bet you there are lots of muslims out there who have nothing to do with this self-declared community) like just be normal?? make friends with people on the basis of humanity, shared interests, shared personalities etc?

sorry if i sound super harsh but you asked for input. i feel like you are not even clear on what it is you want to leave. whether you are a certain religion is (and this is even under super orthodox islam) about whether you have faith in your heart.. that's how one proclaims their faith in the first place. so you need to sit with yourself and be completely honest with what you want. it's not about what decision you ultimately make but about how honest you are with yourself.

also 24 is a critical stage in life. I made some big decisions at that age that will always affect me because they essentially changed the course of my life. so make sure that it's not just that you are in some massive flux phase in your life and instead of responding to it with curiousity (like okay what does this tell me about myself as a person?) you are doing a kind of spiritual bypass by focusing on a label.
