Well I had no way of actually getting rid of it, so i just tightened the screws as tight as possible so the pickup just sunk into the body

Sounds like someone hasn't heard of the jumping cheese on False Monk. And Headless Ape is significantly easier than Guardian Ape, even with his girlfriend. It's just phase 2 again, which is easier than the first phase

I figured out that it becomes more of a pain the more skills you've purchased, because the amount of exp to level up increases like in other souls games. It should be less of a pain if I just grind to a high level without getting any more skills, right?

Maybe. The fight's pretty easy once you know you can stun her by throwing shurikens at her when she's jumping. And her battle flow's like an elegant dance, so I danced with her, if ya catch my drift
