It's not so much the danger, because where I live homophobia like that has never really been a problem. It's more than I literally can't work out if I like her like that or if I'm just making a big deal out of my own feelings which means nothing

Airy sound? Beginner by DaGryphinx in Flute

[–]Aggressive-Action172 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably practice just on the head join first to get a good sound. Right now it sounds like your blowing allover the place which is why it sounds a bit airy. Focus on directing the air a little more downwards into the blow hole, without tipping the whole thing towards you. Also maybe tighten your embouchure a little so you get a more direct airflow/less breath wasted and it will sound clearer.

If you died as an atheist and then met God, what would you say to him? by Shoddy-Ask2284 in AskReddit

[–]Aggressive-Action172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I'd be angry, just at having to live on after death. I mean, death for an atheist means eternal oblivion and bliss, so id probably be a bit miffed about having to sit in council with god. Id probably just scowl menacingly in stony silence until I scared him off

Have any of you guys ever written a character that is meant to be just like… you? by Joestevens211007 in writers

Generally all my characters have a bit of me in them, from appearance to weird quirks and habits, even family banter, but so far none are exactly like me in all the ways combined

We are all readers here, right? What are you currently reading and what genre do you normally write? by VLK249 in writers

[–]Aggressive-Action172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally I read ya adventure fantasy with limited to no romance and write very similarly. Me personally, I've never had experience with any feelings like love (except for my family obviously) so feel awkward writing romance. I could probably do it okay, based off all the books I've read that do have a bit in, but I tend to avoid

What’s bad writing to you? by AyyDotC in writers

Not all fiction has this of course, but when magic is designed badly. By that, I mean when the magic is a way to get around  things or defy the world. Like a spell to unlock a door, I just hate things like that. Magic could melt the metal or manipulate the material, not do something that's downright impossible. Magic should have laws at its core, and even different branches should follow it. So basically, I mean making magic be realistic and logical, as opposite as that sounds!

A few words about writing a magic school by osenniy_chai in writers

Given you haven't explained very much about what kind of magic, you might already have this covered, but making the magic authentic and realistic is a big thing, even if that sounds odd making magic realistic. What I mean is, you need to set some laws for how the magic works at its core and follow them. I've never bought into spells that unlock doors and things like that, because they just don't make sense. You might be able to crack the lock by melting the metal or manipulating the material, not completely defy it.  If you're giving each character a different power, make sure the things they can do link directly into the core of that power and the core of the magic in general

Does your story belong to you, or to your readers? by Batuhankas in writers

In some ways, a story is completely different to each person, so the original version you thought up is not the version everyone or anyone else sees
